Article Sites

Does anyone have a handy dandy list of the top 10 (or 20, or whatever) article databases you can submit articles to? I'm just getting started and know about EZine, and I know that there are other good ones, just have no idea what those other good ones are.

Awhile back I checked out quite a few article sites to submit to 10. I found it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. Some were closed to new submissions, some were limited to a niche range and one of the top ones wouldn't accept my email address for no reason I could determine.

Many of the article submission sites won't allow Yahoo, GMail, and Hotmail email addresses. They don't allow them because spammers typically use them. You have to have your own email in order to signup.

Yes absolutely each site has to be checked out and you simply ask yourself is this a good neighborhood?

Mass submitting to dozens of sites is a technique that has had it's day in my view.

Should you submit a different article to each one, or the same to all?

I've only found a handful of article directories that hold some weight as far as backlinks go. However, it's hard to say any more what move Google is going to make next (or the other search engines we care much less about).

Same article or different ones? I don't think I want to answer that one right now. I would say your probably safe with the same article, but I don't know how serious Google is taking "duplicate content" these days (or if it every really did, for that matter).

I'd be interested in seeing some reports on how article marketing does or doesn't work as far as SEO goes.
