"I've enjoyed Zemanta so far. I like the related posts that it pulls up. Sometimes gives me ideas for additional posts, etc."

Yes I totally agree with that. I do think tho that it seriously messes up the link structure of your blog with all the so called "related" posts and the junk code.

I'd advise you install a WordPress related posts plugin to get extra link juice in your blog and perhaps go to Zemanta web site and search and get ideas there!

Maybe get the best of both worlds then!

    :-)

I use this related posts plugin "Efficient Related Posts"

    Miss Tina,

Your ride on toys site looks great.
For your links, do you have a plug in that creates your cool redirects or do you create them all manually?
I love the way the links say toddlerrideontoys.net/buy/theproductname

Edited: I just added pretty links plug in and it works great.
    Thank you,
    Clay

Thanks Clay! I use the Simple Link Cloaker plugin. I think it's very similar to the one you installed.

Alex ~ I don't think she's using the zemanta related posts on her blog ~ just to get ideas for new posts.

I get a good number of links back from using zemanta which is the main reason I use it. While I don't use the related posts on my blog either ~ a lot of people do. If you have optimized your blog post titles you can get some nice links.

Jackie - I'm not quite sure. My trial with Zemanta was simply using the WP plugin and using the images if any.

I found that it was not that great with images and I became very concerned that the linking was benefiting zemanta and not me.

It also screwed up the alignment which is what Tina mentioned.

I want my posts to look decent with the alignment and wrapping as normal. Everything went fine after I uninstalled it.

    Go figure!

And I love the Efficient Posts Plugin too. That really helps with on site SEO.

hmmm. I don't use a plugin. It's an add on for firefox ~ so it shows up everywhere you can blog ~ blogger/wordpress.com, even myspace. which is fun. I use the images on some of my posts on some blogs but mostly I just use one of the suggested tags to get my posts included the posts available for others to use in the "more posts on this topic".

I use the yet another related post plugin to pull in related posts from my site.

For some reason i don't remember right now, I went the plugin route and it was interesting watching the pics appear just next to the text editor as I typed the post.

I want to use more images on my posts really, I guess I better put some more credits into IStockphoto !

    Jackie,

Do you have any idea why I'm having trouble getting my text to wrap around a Zemanta image?

I don't know why that's happening. Have you tried to add an image that isn't from zemanta to see if zemanta is the actual problem?

when I run into this problem it's generally because of the theme, but I don't think you've changed your theme lately have you?

Just googled it and found this ~ maybe it will help? http://getsatisfaction.com/zemanta/t..._wordpress_2_8

It appears they are aware of the problem and working on it, but he suggests a temporary fix in that thread. (just realized this post was from 7 months ago lol ~ but the fix may work anyway)
