Thread: Trouble getting text to wrap

Default Trouble getting text to wrap

    Hi all!

For some reason I can't get my text to wrap around images in the newest wordpress post that I'm working on. The image also won't align where it's supposed to.

When i click on the image and view all the settings they look fine. It's clicked for the image to align to the right and it views it properly with the text wrapped around the image but when I actually preview the post the picture is aligned to the left and text doesn't wrap.

    Any ideas?

    Hey, Tina:

Sorry to hear of your troubles with Wp. It is great, but can sometimes be wrangly. lol. What version of Wp are you using and are you adding in a CAPTION on the image?

I'm using version 2.9. I inserted a Wikipedia image through Zemanta. I have them set up to always align to the right. The caption is the standard "Image via Wikipedia" that always comes up. This is the first time I've had this issue after 25+ posts.

Zemanta? Am not familiar with this tool. What is the advantage of using Zemanta versus the built-in Wp image tool.

Zemanta is a really cool Firefox extension for bloggers. This post from Jackie Lee gives the low down: http://internetmarketingformommies.c...-for-bloggers/

I love it because it generates some great images as I'm working on the post. If I see one that I want to use I just click on it and it get inserted into my post. Works the same way as uploading an image through the wp image tool.

Cool beans, Tina. Will check out Zemanta. Sorry I couldn't be more help with your image problem, though.

Hopefully someone else will chime in. Cheers!

I used Zemanta briefly, but found that the Zemanta WP plugin messed up my WP so I couldn't publish my posts.

I also noticed that Zemanta added plenty of additional code to my posts that I didn't really have no need for.

Do you experience the same problem with image alignment if you use the built-in image upload tools in WP?

Did you change themes? Sometimes the theme CSS overrides the image alignment.

I had trouble with Zemanta too. It inserts tons of junk code and probably is the cause of the problem. Try deactivating it and try using Creative commons images from flikr and elsewhere and see if that solves the problem...

This is the first time I've had this problem. This is the post I was working on http://www.toddlerrideontoys.net/pow...liminator.html

I've enjoyed Zemanta so far. I like the related posts that it pulls up. Sometimes gives me ideas for additional posts, etc.

Looks like I have a Zemanta issue with the image placement because the text wrapped correctly around the image that I inserted with the WP tool. I'll play around with it today.

    Thanks for the help everyone.
