Default Question about blog page rank

I have a Blogger blog that has been online since 2005, and of course Google likes it. There are roughly only 400 regulars I've had over this entire time and I'm ready to push it hard this year.

Here's the sticking point, if I move this to my own hosting account will my page rank drop? It's been fluctuating lately on Blogger and I'm seriously considering using Wordpress but not sure it will be worth the hassle.

Anyone moved from Blogger to Wordpress here? If so, did you lose your page rank or did it not matter.

    Thanks for suggestions on this.

if you change the domain name, then yes you will lose your page rank. So if your blog is blog123.blogspot.com and you move it and change the domain name to blog123.com your page rank will be gone. However, you may be able to use link shaping from your blogger site to link to your new blog and transfer some page rank, but your page rank is going to be based on inbound links to your blogger account, which won't be easy to replicate quickly.

Why move it if it has a strong PR?

    Default Blogger Update

    Hi Michael,
The reason for moving it was because I could never get that stupid CNAME thing to work with Godaddy

Maybe I'll simply keep it where it is for now until I get time to figure out how to make that CNAME transfer work. Another thing is it's harder to get people to link to it or do guest blogging on it because it is a blogspot blog.

Have to give it more thought. Thanks for the feedback.
