Thread: Blog Post - Category vs Tag

Default Blog Post - Category vs Tag

I just posted a blog post with a category and a tag that are the same ("team building"). Should I take the tag out? I use a plugin for related posts and if I take out the tag I get different (fewer) posts for that.

    Thanks in advance.

As a reader of blogs, I like tags. It often makes it easier, more direct, to find other posts about similar topics. My analogy is that a category is like the table of contents. Tags are like an index.

LOVE that analogy. It's perfect! Totally going to steal that next time someone asks me the difference.

Oh, and I don't think there's anything wrong with having a category and a tag be the same.

    Jeanette,

Enjoyed the brainstorming session with you today on the webinar. Looking forward to seeing what you will be doing with your site and direction.

That is a great way of explaining the difference, Jeanette!
