I just received the following scam e-mail in my Yahoo e-mail account. Notice the obvious grammatically incorrect text. If you receive any e-mail asking for your personal information, delete it immediately. Legitimate companies DON'T ask for personal information via e-mail.

This Email is from Yahoo! Customer Care and we are sending it to every Yahoo!

Email User Accounts Owner for safety. we are having congestion's due to the
anonymous registration of Yahoo! accounts so we are shutting down some Yahoo! accounts and your account was among those to be deleted. We are sending you this email to so that you can verify and let us know if you still want to use this account.

If you are still interested please confirm your account by filling the space below. Your User name,Password,Date Of Birth (DOB) and your
Country information would be needed to verify your account.

Due to the congestion in all Yahoo! users and removal of all unused Yahoo!
Accounts, Yahoo! would be shutting down all unused Accounts, You will have to confirm your E-mail by filling out your Login Information below after clicking
the reply button, or your account will be suspended within 24 hours for
security reasons.

Thanks, David. That seems to be a new one. I hope Yahoo cracks down on them soon. I've been getting the phony eBay and PayPal scam emails for a long time. Half my real eBay mail goes to my spam folder because of it. It's just the dark side of the Internet we all must deal with.

No problem, Wade. As long as people are naive or foolish enough to give out their personal information to anyone who asks for it, these types of scams will continue to thrive.

You're quite welcome. The grammatical errors are always a huge red flag. It's an indication that whoever sent the e-mail doesn't have a a firm grasp of the english language.
