Arrow Let's Talk - Where Are You With Your Online Business?

I'm curious how things are going with your online business.

Take a second to choose one of the 3 options from the poll above, and then hit reply and tell us a bit about where you are and what you're challenged with - or what success you're seeing - with your online business.

I've been traveling non stop for the last couple of months, and I'd love to just take five and catch up with you a bit!

    Hi Lynn,

I could really relate to what you said about feeling disconnected. I have had the same issues with my email list and websites. People are buying products and it's "rocking along" but I don't get to see people progress from one stage to another. To hear about their successes. That is one reason that I'm scaling back and going to start doing some consulting.

    Lynn,
What a great email. I felt like you were really connecting with me as a person. I am finding in this business it's all about building relationships. Looking forward to learning & working with you this next year.

Thank you Mike. It's really great to get both of your replies. This 'disconnect' has made me feel like I'm talking to the wind sometimes -lol . And Sandra, I can relate to that. Consulting is a great way to create a solid connection. It can be hard to scale in regards to a business model, but I am leaning towards doing some of that myself for the very same reason.

I am completely restructuring my business at the moment. There are several things I really miss. Making a real difference with those that are seriously ready to take an online business to the next level... and working on my own affiliate sites. That last one sounds silly, huh? I'm an affiliate marketer at heart

I'm taking on a team to help me pull it all off. I am really looking forward to taking things up a notch and getting back in full swing!

Well, you connected here when you said that, sounds familiar.

The way to connect with lots of folks is to stay safely within the group consensus and say nice things that everybody already pretty much knows and is comfortable with.

This feels good socially, and is probably smart salesmanship, but perhaps isn't really that much of a contribution.

The way to make a contribution is to try to say those things we don't really want to hear. Those are the things that are usually holding us back from our next level.

After all, if the things we want to hear would get us where we want to go, we'd already be there, eh?

Connecting this way is called poor social skills, and really lousy salesmanship. :-)

Playing it safe, and being a revolutionary, both can feel like talking to the wind. In one case, we're saying nothing. In the other case, we're saying nothing anybody really wants to hear.

I'm a graybearded old veteran, and a clueless newbie, all rolled up in to one. A full service operation. If I voted in the poll, I'd probably break it. :-)

Good to hear from you Lynn, you run a nice little hotel here.

All good points, and great to hear on this end - as I have lots to share in the coming months and it is in line with just that! Thank you for the reply, appreciate it!

    Hi Mike,

I just posted this same thing on my own site, yet I have failed in building relationships with people who really know what they're doing. I look forward to doing this very thing here on the forum.

    Hey Lynn,

A very thoughtful email. I can relate to what you are saying here and you are right. Being in touch with your market is so incredibly important.

As for the three choices, I'm somewhere just short of the really rocking it, making great money and having fun since I started my offline consulting business. Things are great but I need to learn to prioritize and set up some systems for myself that will help me to do even better. It is so much fun and at the same time a bit overwhelming how quickly my business is growing.

I'd like to take this opportunity to say how grateful I am to this 'tribe" of yours and particularly it you. I am in the position I'm in because of you and the regular encouragement I get from the group. I'm not sure what's coming next but I know you'll be on top of it and keeping me (and all the rest of those who follow your guidance) informed with valuable information we can use in our businesses. Thank you for that!

In appreciation for all you do,

    Leigha

Thank you Leigha - that makes my day

I have a lot of changes in the works (yet again) and I am picking up some great tips and strategies to share with you guys. I am super excited about my plans to put it all together and get it out to you guys. You are going to LOVE it!

That's a big key - the systems and processes. I am studying more about that, and making changes in my own business on that level as well. I can totally relate. Just know: It's a good problem to have.

Thanks for asking, Lynn. A total newbie, I have three new sites (one affiliate connected to two blogs) since the first of the year. They're not making money yet, and they have about 30 subscribers (mostly friends and family). I am loving the learning part, more every day. Not so sure that what I'm learning is exactly what I NEED to be learning, though. So, I just create more blogs and links, answer comments, wait and soak up information. Luckily, I'm not depending on this new enterprise to put food on the table -- yet.
