    Hello Mill:

Try RentACoder, elance or ScriptLance. Good luck!

    Welcome Millhugz

You'll have a hard time hiring someone that will wait to be paid. Most will require a deposit upfront, or to be paid in full upon completion. As an alternative you can set up a WordPress Blog easily yourself and use any number of very nice free wordpress themes.

If you follow that link & those directions, you can be up & running for about ten bucks, and less than $10/month.

While WordPress or Blogger maybe be relatively simple for some of us, it isn't all that simple for others. I suspect that's why Mill was trying to hire someone in the first place.

I think it's more than just that. I think it would be difficult to get someone to do the work and then wait to see if you are successful and generate revenue, which is what you said you were looking for in your OP.

I wouldn't say it's a matter of trust. Rather, it's a matter that coders need to make a living and pay their bills just like the rest of us.

I agree with David that WP can be difficult for some of us - esp. those who have ZERO coding experience, like me. But I don't agree that it's insurmountable or impossible to learn. Some of the themes are easier than others in that they have more options built in and good forums. I started with Atahualpa theme and learned a lot just from using it. I'm sure there are more that are equally good at being a on-the-job learning experience.

I would never tell anyone not to try. But don't get your hopes up for hiring someone without at least a deposit. It could happen - but don't count on it.

As an old person, I feel the need to add the old saying "be careful. You get what you pay for." Like David, I'm not trying to be discouraging or pessimistic.

But I will say that you might be surprised at how easy WP can be, especially if you start with realistic expectations of the final product. Then, make some revenue and consider paying somebody to clean it up or redo it.

But don't give up, whatever you do.

    Hi Jeanette:

For the record, I never said WP was insurmountable or impossible to learn. However, I do think you have to have a certain mindset to learn anything. And if you don't have the proper mindset, then, yes, some things are impossible to learn.

Quite right, David. After rereading my post, I did alter your words. Unintionally, I assure you.

I've never found your comments to be discouaging. In fact, I've found your comments usually contain valuable, sage advice from someone who obviously knows his stuff and wants to share it to help make others equally successful. I make it a point to look for your comments.

    Thanks for all you do.

Jeanette, thank you for that! I know you didn't alter my comments intentionally. Sometimes, when we read things too quickly, we unwittingly misinterpret their meaning. Yes, I do enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with others, and I'm humbled that you make it a point to look for my comments.
