Default 60 Second Mistake Got Me Banned From Warrior

This is a bit upsetting. After posting my first WSO over at the Warrior Forum (I've been a member for all of 2 days), I asked around for tips on how to manage a WSO better, since I was so new. Someone suggested mentioning it in the main forum, which I did. Immediately this person wrote back and said "but don't promote the WSO directly or you might get banned." So I immediately removed all the stuff about the WSO from the post (couldn't figure out how to just delete it).

Heck it wasn't even up for more than about 60 seconds. Next thing I know, I'm banned for a week!

I read the rules (there are lots) on Warrior, but just must have missed that one. and as soon as I realized I had broken a rule, I tried to fix it. But without any warning..."You're banned for a week!"

Anyway...does anyone here know what happens to my WSO that I paid for this morning? Does that come down too?

Also, is there any way to contact the admin there to explain myself? I understand the need for the rules to prevent people who are trying to take advantage, but this was a legitimate mistake. I don't break rules, as a rule.

That sure put a damper on my enthusiasm for having found what I THOUGHT to be such a cool site that I paid for War Room Membership AND a WSO.

I'd welcome any advice or maybe even words of encouragement.

    Thanks!

    Well, ok then.

Advice, extend your week long ban to a decade.

It's called the "Warrior" forum, that should be a clue to what you can expect, and did find there.

And now the encouragement, if you take the advice, you'll have more time to work on your site.

Which is what I should be doing too... .

    Thanks. That does help, actually.

I disagree. The Warrior Forum really is a great place. They just get a BOATLOAD of traffic and a SHITTAKE load of creeps, so they are pretty cut and dry with the rules. There is pretty much no bending them, whatsoever - even though it was a totally and completely honest mistake - and you fixed your blunder right away.

There are some amazing people there and I have learned a LOT OF STUFF there and there are people there with some REALLY BIG HEARTS.

But - there is soooooo much traffic there and so many ne-er do wells (sp?) that they just take a very hard stance to the rules.

They will, in fact, welcome you back with open arms the minute your week is up.

I understand what Engage is saying about getting more work done, but, that is true, and can be true, of any forum. If you hang around in forums all day - you will meet lots of cool people - but you might not get much work done.

If you would like me to, I will look around and ask and stuff and see what will be up with your WSO.

I have mixed feelings about the Warrior Forum. I think there is a ton of great information there, and I also think there is a lot of junk there (in the WSO section). I try to pop in over there and see what's going on every now and then, but I also try not to hang out too long, because it's easy to lose track of time and spend hours upon hours trying to read all the new stuff that people are posting there.

I do think if you have an information product that fits into the "make money" realm of things or content creation type service that running a WSO is a great way to test the water and get some honest feedback.

I agree with Lisa. Warrior Forum has some truly amazing, helpful people. I was a wee bit intimidated when I first poked my head in the door over there, but it turns out it's a pretty good bunch of people, all things considered.

They do, of course, attract more than their fair share of drive-by link droppers, which is why they're sticklers for the rules.

I'm not sure what you can do now, except wait out your week. In the future - in addition to reading the rules, of course - I'd lurk in any new forums for at least a couple of weeks before jumping in with both feet. Sometimes you learn more by what people are saying than by reading the rules.

I agree with all of the above.

First, good for you for taking the initiative to post your first WSO.

I've been a member since 2008 but never really did much with it until I needed content written. WF is a great resource for that.

Because it is an open forum, it is "self vetting". Good resources seem to stay around, while others fall by the wayside.

You are certainly not the first to break a rule there, and you won't be the last. Shrug it off, start over and prosper.

I dug around for a while and asked one of the long term members (who has himself been banned - I think more than once!) but, he didn't know. He said to ask the admins, but, I would definitely use caution in doing that.

Thanks everyone! I do understand that with so much traffic, there's no practical way they could do a case-by-case thing. It's just that the timing is so bad, being the first day of my first WSO. I won't be able to answer questions, correct mistakes, etc. on my thread.

Oh well. Water under the bridge. I'll keep on moving forward.

    Thanks again!

What was your WSO about. Let me know and I will go in and check it for you to see what its doing. My opinion on the WF is that it is a huge, steaming pile of poop the size of Texas littered with diamonds. If you know what your looking for it can be excellent. However, I spent alot of wasted time there when I was investigating the IM world. This forum is a much better place for advice.
