    Default Improving an optin

    Hey,

Could use some suggestions for anyone that has done an optin like this before. The site is RealHolograms.com, and the optin page is here: Optin Page.

The site is designed to drive people to that optin page to get subscribers (for when the product is finished). Any suggestions you have to improve the conversion of that page is appreciated.

    Hi,

to answer: I'm a little puzzled because you have an optin form on the home page for your newsletter, so why not use that to advise visitors that information on creating your own hologram will be available soon?

The "optin page" seems to be redundant unless that is intended as a squeeze page once the create your own hologram project is ready.

    Regards,
    Steve

Yes Steve you are correct. The optin will be changed once the product is finished to the products page, until then I am using it to create a list for when it is ready. What I need help with is ideas to increase the conversion % on the optin page.

I'd suggest creating a short report or some other giveaway. Then you can say something like "Sign up to be notified as soon as How to Create Real Holograms" hits the shelves, and in the meantime, I'll send you my free report "The History of Holograms" (or whatever). You could even make it an excerpt from the book itself.

Then your sales copy should be about what they'll learn in the free report.

Alternatively, you could write some compelling copy about the topics the book will cover, list them in bullet points - maybe with a chapter reference - like this:
    • Learn the best sources for holographic equipment - and why inferior tools will cause your hologram to fail miserably (chapter 5)

Christian: Cindy, you hit the nail right on the head: giving some good information in return for the prospect's email address.

That sounds like a good idea Cindy. I already have a lot of the product created, so giving them a page or two and listing some bullets would be good.

Looks pretty darn good to me, and the above suggestions as well.

All I can think to add is maybe a quick little video to make more of a personal connection?

Yes, I do have the optin form in my normal sidebar and on the optin page. Once the product is finished, all my links will be pointing to that page instead of the optin page, that is why it is in 2 places right now.
