Anybody need a Paypal IPN script for digital products?

Okay, this may sound like a shameless plug. But I am giving away my Paypal IPN PHP script if you are selling ebooks, files, etc... anything downloadable.

Can you explain what this does, and why we might need it?

Simple IPN is a PHP script that helps you sell your ebook, report, audio, photos, etc, anything downloadable.

It works with Paypal. And what it does is this...

1. it helps you generate the HTML for the Paypal button
2. it will create an expiring download page for your customers
3. it will create expiring download link(s) for your files
4. it will email your customers with the purchase & download info
5. you can setup your product with multiple files
6. it will verify the purchase with Paypal IPN (instant purchase notifaction)

Some of the best features are these...

1. no database setup required, runs on flat files
2. small and lightweight, only a few files
3. no need to create HTML for your Paypal button
4. you can customize how the thank you page looks like
5. you can customize how the download page looks like
6. you can store your files outside of the web root (public_html) so your files will not be downloadable directly
7. you can test it on Paypal Sandbox (check http://developer.paypal.com)
8. verifies purchase against the right price, currency and Paypal email address (sometimes people can send bogus IPN data)
9. did I mention that it's FREE?

How to use...

1. modify settings.php with product info and Paypal details
2. upload to any chosen folder
3. link order button or text link to "ipn.php?buy"
4. DONE!
5. optionally, modify the download page template
6. optionally, modify the thank you page template

Yep, this works like the Buy Now button.

So basically anyone who wants to make a secure download with the features you've mentioned who doesn't have a cart could use this.

I don't see why not. Affiliate scripts/software normally works by having you add some code at the download page/thank you page. You have access to that. So yes, it can work with affiliate program.

Tell me if you have any specific affiliate system in mind. I'll check it out.

This sounds good. I have been trying many a carts and services looking for an easy to use system like this where I don't need a cart. I am going to check into this. I have downloaded it and can't wait to try it out. I will post any comments or testimonials on your site in the future.
Thank you again kidino. I am using an affiliate program right now where I add their created buy now button with their tracking codes are inside, but I do have a few other products I want to put out single sales pages for so I can test the conversion rates, this will be good for that.

It's best you tell me what affiliate software you are using. I can look it up in their knowledge base if they have any.
