I don't have anything specific to recommend, but you can get a lot of fully functional free trial downloads for that kind of stuff at download.com - when you do a search query, just make sure not to mistake the ads for the content you are looking for - its a little confusing!

I dug around at CNet once and found a free program with the not-to-imaginative name "Free Video Converter" by Extensoft that is designed to do just what you ask. I've used it to scale frame size down when I've made CamStudio captures, but it should work with your video. It will import AVI and WMV files, I know.

I have used these with some success. Give them a try. I think they are free. If not you can at least download them and try it for free first.

Sorry if this is a lame answer, but ... is it possible to plug the recorder into your PC/MAC and use it like a web cam and record direct to Youtube etc.

Yep lame ... sorry I couldn't help more.

    Hi Todd,

Did any of those recommendations do the trick? If not, what is the file format you're working with - and what format do you want to convert it to?

Forgot all about the one I use almost everyday. Duh! It's called Mpeg Streamclip and only converts from and to certain formats. But it works great. you can find it at http://www.squared5.com/

What do you do with this almost every day, Glenn? And, thanks for the link. I think Pam's may be more what I need.

Thanks, Pam. This looks like it might be what I need to create an MP4 from Banana Sky DVD so it can be sold as a digital download on iAmplify

I plan to check it out in my hour + before getting on email tomorrow
