Default First step in IM - Update

    Hello!

Wooah! It has already been a bit more than 5 weeks since I started this thread. A lot has happened since. I have now 30 subscribers to my list and have made a few clickbank sales. I also feel a lot more confident about IM and concentrating on generating traffic.

That is exactly what I am doing. 2x programs running is more than enough work! Also I think that with some much information around, it is very important to stick to 1 plan!

Traffic is the lifeline of Internet Marketing. Setting-up the website is the easy part. I am sticking to traffic methods that I enjoy and have dropped the ones that were too cumbersome like "profile backlinks".

The first step will always be "KNOWING WHAT BUSINESS YOU WANTED and which NICHE you are targeting". It's quite easy to create a squeeze page however what's important is the niche you are entering. No matter how attractive your squeeze page is, but if you are in a very crowded market plus have no other marketers to back you up for email marketing campaigns, then it will be hard for you to succeed...

Aside from creating a squeeze page, I suggest you open connections with marketers in the niche you are into :-)

That's where "Research" comes into it. My plan has always been to identify first a market and then sell a product to this market.

I think taking the first step is always daunting. My first step has been to create a squeeze page, and I am now working on generating traffic to it.

I would love to hear about your stories.

Rightly said - Information overload is a big hurdle for a newbie.

As regards generating traffic to your squeeze page, your best bet would be to promote on manual traffic exchanges. There are some great TEs out there, such as hit2hit, traffic-splash, ilovehits and a host of others. Visit traffichoopla and you will find some of the best TEs listed there.

    All the best !

At this stage I am not familiar with traffic exchange. The 2 methods I am currently using are blog commenting and article marketing.

Can you tell me a bit more about traffic exchange. How does it work?
