Need Help from a Webmaster!!!!

Not sure where I should have posted this but I guess it can be moved if needed. I am trying to transfer over a database from one domain to another and not sure what to do.

Here's what has been happening.

Had a hosting account set up on one domain name. Want to sell that domain. So got hostgator to change over hosting account to new domain name purchased. Then saw that the old site/wordpress and all was still on the new domain because the old domain no longer existed. I added the old domain back to the server as an add-on. But now I have no way to access the wordpress files from the old account and export them because once it got switched, there was no longer a valid login for wordpress on the new domain.

I don't know if i am explaining this properly!

Summation: All I want is all content from original wordpress site to be over onto new site with old domain that was just added.

I haven't use hostgator, so this may not work, and they may have deleted everything from the old domain, but it may be worth loging onto newdomain.com/cpanel with the old user and password details

either that or asking hostgator support if they can help?

thanks for the help. I am thinking that contacting hostgator to fix it may be the easiest and less stressful situation. Even if it costs a few dollars, sometimes it is worth the aggravation.
