Traffic Travis does keyword research and competitive analysis kind of like Market Samurai. It's free, but is lacking a lot of the options MS has. I generally use Traffic Travis to start with (because it is faster) than narrow things down in MS.

One of the major advantages of internet marketing is how inexpensive it is compared to an offline business. However it is not FREE. Sooner or later you will have to "invest" some money like for buying a domain, hosting, etc..

True, it has a price to pay, but at least not as expensive as offline business. Like for example, right now, I offer services regarding article submission, basically several marketers bite that offer. It is an expense to them but they still continue to subscribe to my services because it's important to build online presence and credibility..

When I started, I spent not just money but my time studying the basics of internet marketing till the time I understood how powerful it could be :-)

    Hello!

Although Internet Marketing is a lot cheaper compared to any other businesses, I still think that it needs a minimum investment. Are you building a list?

I agree with that. This is the best thing for newbies to do - getting internet marketing skills is a must to comprehend how the system works!

    Hi Nickitta!

Since you concentrate on freebies, are you creating a business that will do the same? For example, will you teach newbies to concentrate on freebies too?

What is your definition of fancy products and why do you steer away from them?

80% of what I've learned online was via a paid product, mastermind group, coaching and forums like this (Elite members).

When you're first starting out, it's good to be cautious about what you buy because you could end up with a lot of stuff that you just don't need. It also depends on what you want to do online as to what service/tools/products you'll need to help you.

I will say having Aweber is a great start. Learning how to write copy is the next. Lynn has tons of 'how to' information not only in this forum but also on her blog at http://www.clicknewz.com

    Keep asking questions too...

    Hello!

My definition of "fancy products" are products that claim to make someone rich "overnight or in a very short time". You are an elite member so I am sure that you are lot more experienced than me in this domain.

My question was geared towards beginners starting out in IM. I think that any threads from Eric Gaudin is on top of my list as he is an experienced marketer who gives fantastic advice to newbies like me
