Default Are you applying Parento’s Principle – the 80/20 Rule????

As I reflect upon 2010 and the things I did not accomplish, I am more mindful of the 80/20 Rule and the need to apply it in my life and especially in my online business.

Pareto’s 80/20 Rule (Pareto's Principle) reminds us to focus on the 20 percent that matters. Of the things we do during the day, only 20 percent really matter. Those 20 percent produce 80 percent of our results. So, we need to identify and focus on those things.

I have 5 core areas I am focusing on for the next 7 days. I want to only focus on these areas instead of multi-tasking and mastering none.

Are you applying the 80/20 Rule???? If so, how is it working for you? Do you have any tips to share?

Yep, that would be it!!! Sorry for the slip of the finger.

So, Ian, do you apply it? Do you have anything to share?

Hmmmm Interesting topic. I am still trying to get past the notion that of the things that I do during the day, only 20 percent of it really matters... LOL I think that I can surely do better at laser focusing more on certain area's in my life but I am not sure that it falls under the 80/20 rule.

    Aurelia,

Are you making a "To Do" list every day of the things you would like to accomplish. If so, go an extra step and label the most important task in alphabetical order or number them. Usually the top two are the ones that will have the greatest impact on your day or your goal -- your 20%!

This extra step will be the implementation of the 80/20 Rule! Good luck with all you plan to accomplish in 2011 -- write it all down and mark it off -- you can do it, too!!!!

I think that the 80/20 rule is pretty close to accurate, although many people get hung up on whether it is exactly 80/20, 70/30, 85/15, etc.

The principle itself, is rock solid. Prioritize your actions on the most important tasks and your productivity will soar.

I try to implement it every chance I get, but I fall off the wagon at times.

There is no try. Just do...
