Thread: New Business Up and 'jogging': genre/link building dilemma

Actually I have a little bit of social difficulty, the being too nice thing, it's true.
It would be cool if I had the being too nice thing problem. Oh well... I try to make up for that lack with the being too honest problem.

I struggle knowing how to respond to people. It slows me way down with the social networking...
I struggle with social networking too. I think it's a format thing.

I LOVE forums, and can engage all day long, and sincerely enjoy it. The forum format is an ideal social environment for me in a variety of ways. I love to read, I love to write, and there's room in this format to read and write things worth reading and writing.

Plus, I don't have to worry too much if readers don't like what I'm saying, as they have the power to stop reading the instant I'm boring or annoying them. This opens the door for experimentation and so on.

I admit to being relatively inexperienced on social media sites, but every time I try they seem to be a format designed specifically for idle quip based cheery chitcat. Small doses of that can be fun, but when that's all there is, I lose my groove.

I struggle with knowing how to respond to people too. In real life face to face, it seems the overwhelmingly dominant topic of interest is the day to day details of everyday life. I'm good for about an hour of that at a dinner party etc, and then I start scanning for the exits.

I don't know if you experience this. Mindfulness tends to shed a light on our ego, and once that's seen clearly, holy cow, we can see that our egos are almost the only subject any of us are really interested in.

If we're alert and sensitive in a conversation, we can see the ego messages flashing back and forth at the speed of light in almost every moment of a conversation, and that can overload my circuits. Too much data to process! I sometimes admire people who can handle those data streams effortlessly, but have made peace with the fact I'm not one of them.

I'm a print person. The world makes sense to me when I have a keyboard under my fingers, or when I'm out in the woods, leaving words behind.

Anyway, what is it about social networking that slows you down the most? The format? Not knowing what's expected of you? Lack of interest?

Thanks very much for offering to share your share tool. Is there someplace where I can see it working? It sounds like a great idea...
Thanks very much for your interest, and please pardon me if I get carried away with enthusiasm for my own creations.

Let's do this. I'm right in the middle of moving and upgrading our share tool, and I don't want to waste your time with stuff that isn't ready to act on. Give me a few days, and I'll be back with a link, and any help you may request.

Nice talking with ya, I sense we share a number of interests. Are you a nature nut by chance?

My apologies. My intent was to show you the newest version of our share tool, but it's not ready yet, and I seem quite bogged down in all kinds of things.

Here's the old site. It's not too slick, but it will at least give you the general idea.

If anything isn't clear, just give me a shout.
