    Hi everone,

I am promoting a company I got involved with back April. They have a great product, a health drink, since I am into working out, I love it...They also have a great compensation plan. that overtime you can build nice residual income. A freind of mine that is also involved built this landing page for me. Can I have some feed back please.

    Thanks,

The link you sent isn't for any health drink, did you send the wrong link?

What does the health drink have to do with a business op? If I signed up for the list at the first link, and then you promoted a health drink to me, I'd unsubscribe, or at the very least, I wouldn't buy. Why not set up a landing page specifically about healthy living/eating and then promote the drink? Your leads will be much better qualified, and you'll have a far greater conversion rate.

    Hi Cindy,

The health drink is the avenue for the business opportunity. This is a network marketing company. Their product is a health drink with a GREAT compensation plan. I have never been interested in this type of business before. But I had to get involved in this one. It's the only network marketing company where you get paid on everybody that gets in after the date you got in. I got in April 16th. There are about 4500 people below me that I am getting paid on that I ddin't personally get in. They got involved with the company after April 16th. The reason this company is different is there is only about 40,000 people involved. When a network marketing company has 2,000,000-4,000,000 involved, their growth slows to a crawl. When this company has 2,000,000 most will be below me, since I got in at the beginning. It's the only company I've seen that does this. It's not usual to make money your first month in network marketing and your check go up 30%-50% each month. You do max out, another reason this company is different. So it doesn't go on forever (pyramid), you max out at $100,000 a month.

Back to the landing page. I want my landing page to offer the business opportunity, people opt in, the they are sent to my company site, http://jamesduggan.124online.com. Let me know you thought how I could make the landing page more attractive. If you get a chance get on the main web page http://jamesduggan.124online.com, check out the vidoes (they're not very long) Maybe you could give me some other ideas of how to market this business. Here in South Florida we are growing this like crazy.
    Thanks for your input.

    Jim:

I have to agree with the other posts here. You really need to make the message match the landing page.

If you are creating a site to sell the MLM opportunity, the landing page shouldn't be about health drinks. It should be all about the opportunity that MLM offers, why this program is special, etc. Of course, you'll need to mention the product, but that should be a small mention on the page, not the focus.

On the other hand, if you are offering the health drink, then the landing page you send visitors to should be all about the product. How healthy it is. Why it is better than all the other drinks in its class. There can be a small link to the opportunity of MLM for the drink, but it should only be there for folks who are hunting for that opportunity.

If the best thing about the health drink is that you can sell it to someone else for a profit, then you have a product that isn't worth selling. That's not a good spot to start from.

    Hey Jim,

First let me say I hope you are looking for honest constructive reviews here (seems like you are) - you'll definitelly get that from this group, but please dont take anything I say personally, anything I say here is an evaluation of the results I'm seeing and just my opinion, but it is based on experience both on and offline. I try to be just as critical of my own efforts too, but objectivity is very hard esepcially when you are close to something. The trick is to come here to find out how others see what we already think is pretty darn good - you will be shocked sometimes at how differently someone else sees your project - that is the best news you can get - take it and respond to it and you will find this a very helpful process. Just dont ever take it personally or be offended, I think everyone here is sincerely looking to help each other.

So, I just looked at the landing page, I like the colors, it's bright and cheerful, the photos are very nice to look at but they take up most, if not all, above the fold screen on my laptop and say "travel site" more than business opportunity to me. When I scroll down to look at the three feature boxes none are compelling me to click through at all.

"Your retirement opportunity" is a phrase that may appeal to an older demographic who are actively thinking about retiring but not so well to a younger audience, who in fact may be a good target market for this health drink product, but I still don't really know even what the product is (it's only because I've read the other posts here that I know its a drink).

I would look for a phrase on that 'retirement' button that speaks to the "business opportunity" first and foremost. At the moment it seems like the message is being approached from your own (or the company's) perspective by pushing the "retirement plan". Why not assume that I am an intelligent being who can make a decision based on you providing information - tell me what the opportunity actually is first, then let me decide how I should spend/apply my own profits as best fits with my life stage and motivations.

I'm guessing the middle box with picture of the health drink is there to explain what the product is that generates the business opportunity, but I think that distinction needs to be clearer and much more obvious - right now it looks almost like an ad link and as someone earlier said a bit out of place.

My belief is that with brand new visitors to any site, their main focus is WIIFM (What's In It For Me) - dont tell me what to do with my profits - tell me how I can make profits and why I should stay here to learn more - show/tell me you have the biggest, best 'widget' (in your case sports or energy drink - I'm still know sure (you see a theme here) what it is and onestly I'm not compelled so far to even bother to find out) ever invented and THEN tell me how to go about getting involved to make money from it. You can't sell me on joining your company just because you have a great compensation plan. If you don't sell me on the fact that your product is vastly superior, cheaper or in some way, way better than any other similar thing on the market, I dont care if you compensate me with 100% of the sales price, it's likely still going to be a JOB for me to sell it. Sell me right off the bat that the product is AWESOME, sell me on that first and then tell me how I can make money helping you sell it.

In the interest of helping with a proper review here (otherwise you'd have lost me way earlier), I went through to the videos and started watching the intro one - was bored about a minute in and switched back to give feedback here. That may be because I'm not interested in this opportunity or even the type of opportunity but I am motivated to be honest and thorough here, because I think that's how we each contribute value to the group and can fairly ask for help for our own projects by helping each other, so I went back again and watched all the way through that intro video this time.

I noted (both on the first look and when returning) that in the right sidebar text it states no gimmicks, no get rich quick schemes etc yet one of the videod is titled "Gold Rush" and my heart sank - as I just thought snake oil - which screams gimmick to me and I'm assuming they provide the videos so likely you can't change them. In the intro video, the guy says he wants to "gain my trust", and I watched that one all the way through even though it was boring and not telling me what I needed to know - I'd retitle that "history" and let people decide if they care to watch it later. Based on watching that one, I couldn't justify investing the time to watch the others - that's what I learned and all that I learned from it. I STILL dont know why/what makes this PRODUCT so special that I will be able to retire off it even though I have no intention of retirning for quite some tme.

Maybe I am completely wrong, but the point I am trying to make is this, convince me first that this product is AWESOME, then I will know that I can sell it to someone else and make a business out of doing it. Then and only then, I will be properly motivated to explore the compensation plan and look at testimonials to satisfy myself that others have already been successful doing just that. If they can find success in this opportunity then maybe I can too but not if the product is lousy or something that people don't need. I want a huge diamond ring but I sure dont need one so I wont be buying one. I 'might' need a new laptop, a vacation or even a sports/energy/diet drink, show me how yours will help me be healthier, slimmer or whatever your drink does bigger, better, faster, longer, cheaper than others and then I think you'll get the conversions you're looking for.

    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,
    Deb

    Great thread!

I agree that the message-to-market match needs to be (and stay) highly relevant throughout the entire process. You don't want to confuse them and lose them. You are either marketing the product or the opportunity at any given time - never both. So you may want two different landing pages, one for each. And each should take them through a highly relevant process/funnel (not mixing the two anywhere upfront).
