Hi, I'm new here, actually I'm new to the entire work from home group. I have been hunting all over the place for a WAH job. I heard about affiliate marketing and have been trying to drink in all that I can about it. Now, all I am is confused, I get the "jist" of it, I just don't know where to start. I know its not a get rich quick thing, I do need to start making some kind of income soon. I have two kids one 7 month old, and a 6 year old, I thought that affiliate marketing (once I got things going) would be perfect for me. My husband has been laid off for almost 4 months, unemployment is going to run out at some point... SO I don't have a whole lot of money to invest as you can see. I came here in search for good (not confusing) help. I was referred here by another member who highly recommended it! So far I like what I see! Anyways, any any all help (other than the confusing sort ) is greatly appreciated!!

Welcome to the forum. There are quite a few folks here that had a similar story. I would also suggest that while you are learning affiliate marketing, you might also think about doing some contract work in an area that you are proficient in especially writing, graphics or techie things.

The best way we can all help you is for you to ask specific questions along the way. I understand that in the beginning you probably don't know what you don't know. But things will become clearer as time goes on. Lynn has a wealth of information on the ClickNewz blog.

Great to see you here! The best advice I have is to just get started. Follow Lynn's beginner post and see the beginning of the case study (Lynn goes into much further detail on this case study in the elite group if anyone is interested).

I know we had discussed some possibly niches and if you care to share them here to get feedback that is fine otherwise, feel free to touch base with me. I have some thoughts on one of the niches.

As far as hubby being laid off, this is prime time for you both to start working on this. And great to get your 6 yr old involved too. A family business! How fun.

As for the free WP dog themes, you know I have been looking. Still trying! Oh and some of the themes I have seen for dogs have SMALL dogs on them, that won't work for you.

I felt like you do now. I was overloaded with information just trying to decide how to just get steps or whatever to be an affiliate marketer. I also became confused. You can sell as an affiliate just about any product you can think of. Some companies will pay you more than others for selling their products. You can be an affiliate for Amazon which you have probably heard of before.
I've done affiliate marketing with Amazon and it is a good program. As an affiliate or anyone who wants to earn online you must have a website. If you need help building one I can help you. lorak
