    Unhappy Wordpress theme Lifestyle

    Hello-
Some time ago I purchased a web package with the Lifestyle Theme. I liked the theme and copied it to another web site I designed. In the admin panel you have your widgets, design options, plugins on the left side. All was well thru the other day I logged in and there is no options on the left, only posts, dashboard, media, comments, profile, tools and settings. I reloaded the site with what I thought was my backup. No luck, now I have a mess. Is there something I did wrong or do I rebuilt the site over

The sites looks okay except for the header graphics which I can't get to as there is no editing
I guess this is my learning to do better

    Thanks

Do you have a bunch of little icons on the left now? If so, click the very last one that looks like an triangle in a circle.

    Hello Mrs.Cobb-
I dont have any icons only the tabs on the left side. There is no way to change themes or add/changes widgets.
I will try to back up what I have and correct the rest.

    Thank You for the info

Do you have a "Users" tab? It sounds as if you've lost your admin rights. If you can view all users that will tell you if you've been downgraded to a contributor or author, which would explain the missing dashboard functions.

If that is the case, you can either log in as a different admin (if you have more than one) to change it back, or you can change it in the database.

    Hello Mrs. Bidar-
I don't have any user tabs, all I can do is add/edit posts. I guess the only option I have is start all over and make sure I have a good backup. Just funny one day all is well then the next time I log in I have no control over any widgets, amazon products or design of any php files.
    Thanks for the info
I will learn this web site stuff some way

    Hello Mrs.Bidar-
Looks like I lost some of admin permissions as one of my plugins was the (all in one seo pack) which is just below the dashboard label, and when I click the go to admin page it tells me I don't have sufficient permission. Is there any way to get my full permissions back?

    Thanks

A friend of mine had an issue like this. Contact your hosting account and they will be able to put you back as an admin user with full rights.

Terry if that doesn't work, pm me with your cpanel login and password and I'll see if I can't get it fixed for you. I'm travelling this week, so if I don't respond right away that's why.

    Hello-
Thanks for all the advice, started from the beginning to rebuilt the site, now I have another question- I have made some posts on the old website and now they are gone- where are the posts stored in the website so in the future I can backup the posts. Also what is the best way to backup the site when I get it back in shape the way I want it. I see in cpanel there is a backup function, do I use that or is there another option that I have.

Thanks again for all the support and help, I will get this mastered some way even if it is by trial and error.

    Terry
