...has anyone used "Ping Kaching"?
Is it worth the ~$30/mo? (...or is month best spent elsewhere for a beginner?!?)

Is it meant to ping services and sites every time you publish a new blog post? I am not familiar with it. But if so, I would pass on that. It's not necessary. Pinging is kinda... 2004.

Yes. I was watching 'The Challenge' videos and I guess I'm just skeptical. It's my nature... lol
I've been good with their basics and use of Market Samurai (because I own it)...but now they are promoting Ping Kaching which claims to automate: Social Bookmarking, RSS Submissions, Directory Submissions, Search Engine Submissions, Pinging and more..
I gathered it's pretty much exactly what you said, "a pinging service every time you publish a new blog post." I'm not sure I understand any of that....but glad to know that 'pinging' is sooo 2004. lol That made me laugh.
Thanks.

Sounds like an automation tool to me and these days you really want to be cautious with that. Google is cracking the whip!
Thanks Angie!
(...btw, I love your site!)
Eileen
I would leave that one alone.

I'm working through the Challenge now and have been using Pink Kaching for a few weeks. It's a little difficult because the videos/training material haven't been updated to reflect the recent Google updates. If you don't use a service such as Ping Kaching, how do you go about informing Google/other search engines that there are backlinks pointing to your site?
Also, are there any other resources other than the Challenge that walks a beginner through the basic steps of IM? It seems like a good process, but I'm a little concerned about the lack of updates and activity on their forums/blogs.
Thanks,
E. Phillips
