Where would I find the resolution settings on my computer? I'm sure hubby knows but he's not here right now LOL

If your on a Windows computer, right-click anywhere on your desktop. On the pull-down, click "Properties", then in the dialog window click the settings tab. Slide the resolution pointer to where you want it, then click OK. You'll find all the text, icons and pictures are become much smaller. I don't care for the eyestrain of reading at the higher resolutions, myself. I guess that's the difference in younger computer geeks and older ones like me.

It's easier in Firefox ... Ctrl + will zoom in, and Ctrl - will zoom out, letting you see all sorts of stuff.

At least mine does.

Just 2 cents...You can always right click on the Twitter profile background and select "view background image" to see the full screen. The cursor then becomes a magnify tool to enlarge the image.
I do this myself as most backgrounds are cut off on my 17 inch monitor.

(Bphtht!) I've known about the Firefox zoom feature for a long time, but it never occurred to me to use it that way. That works fine and beats changing your resolution settings. You guys should probably be using Firefox if you're not already, anyway. If you use the NoScript addon your computer can cruise the web more securely.

Got a question for you, though... on my screen (17" monitor), Twitter backgrounds are mostly hidden behind/under the person's Twitter page, so I don't see all the cool stuff in people's background designs. The screenshots you included in your post are NOT what I see on Twitter... the left and right panels of the custom design are hardly visible at all.

Is there some sort of an adjustment I can make for my viewing area? Or are the custom designs only fully visible on larger monitors?

Wow, I almost never use 1024 X 768 anymore, not even on a 17" laptop. The reason I don't 1024 X 768 is because, although everything will look bigger and maybe easier to read, I can't see as much stuff. This is a perfect case in point. When you're Display resolution is set at the 1024 X 768, it's like ZOOMING in. Yes, the text is bigger, but you get a whole lot LESS to look at, and that is why you don't see all of the Twitter Background.

In a way, I guess one could compare it to... Trying to create a video site that is optimized for dial-up. It can be done, but then all of your "Video Viewers" with high speed internet wouldn't come around much more because the video would NOT look good to them.

Seems like it's "have-to" case of choosing the lesser of two evils.
That's just "my" 2 cents worth. Just one opinion from one guy
