Thread: Which e-mail client do you use?

  1. Default Which e-mail client do you use?

    Which e-mail client does everyone use? Google? Yahoo? Outlook?

    We currently use Verizon web mail and hate it. I want to set up something with more control and that we can have accounts directly for our domain. ie instead of for instance.

    "my-email@verizon.net" it would be "my-email@mydomain.com"

    I have heard both good and bad about several. Just curious what most folks prefer.

    I use Thunderbird. Like it. It does everything I need it to.

    Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Thunderbird are my top 3 used choices. Do have Web mail thorough my Domain(nar321(@)robertnelsononline.com) which is usually full of spam by the time I get around to checking it. My attempts at Spam control on this domain either makes the unusably go away or doesn't do anything. Thunderbird collects my Gmail for me and is tied to my ISP via POP3.

    Gmail. Nothing else compares, in my opinion.

    I have email addresses for every domain I own, and they all feed right into my Gmail account, where they're sorted and filed away according to rules I set up. When I reply to those emails I have the choice of replying via my primary gmail account or the account the mail came through.

    I've toyed with the idea of switching to Outlook, because I really like the integrated calendar, tasks, and the fact that it plays nice with OneNote, my new favorite personal organizer. But the one thing that holds me back is that with Gmail, I can access my email from anywhere.

    Cindy,

    With G mail you can have mail from a specific person or account go into a designated folder in the in box when it comes in?

    For instance If you sign up for a news letter it could be automatically sent to its named folder when it comes in as opposed to going into the main inbox for the accoung?

    Yes. Gmail calls them labels instead of folders, but the effect is the same. I have lots of mail that comes in, skips the inbox, and is labeled (and color-coded) and filed away for future reading.

    you can do the same thing with any email program like outlook ( express) or thunderbird etc.

    I use thunderbird it checks all of my different email addresses at all of my different domains. it puts them in their appropriate folders automatically. it has a pretty good spam/junk filtering system as well. ( I don't use it because I want all my spam/junk mail.

    I use Gmail and have all my emails go there, then organize with filters and labels. I like being web based so I can check from anywhere.

    I use Outlook. My org skills are old school and I really like being able to nest folders.

    I use Gmail and all the things that have been mentioned are great but my favorite feature about Gmail is how it threads the messages. I don't have to look in Inbox and Sent to follow a conversation. It's all right there together and with as many clients as I have, that's a necessity for me now!
