This is a good place to start. You'll find a great group here - very friendly and resourceful. I have not personally reviewed Wealthy Affiliate, so I can't advise you either way on that. If you read this page it will give you a very good idea of what I do and the methods I use to do it.

While this is a (free) guide on SEO, it actually teaches you how to research your market & keywords, and set up a website correctly - including site structure and content development. A VERY good starting point.
