Hi Rob!
Start a thread in the private forum and let's brainstorming in detail there. ;-)
I truly feel that 2013 is going to be MY year! Just a few weeks ago Babble announced their top mom blogs of 2012 list and I was on it. While it's not a monetary reward or anything like that I really feel rejuvenated. This year I have plans to continue with my bi-weekly podcast that I relaunched last week. I also have plans of releasing a seasonal digital magazine with family-friendly articles from some amazing authors. I am also going back to my original intent with my website which is more personal blogging and less of free product reviews and pointless giveaways. I pray that through these three avenues I'll be able to attract advertisers.
My goal - which is going to be a lot of work - is to replace half of my husband's current income so that in 2014 he can go to a part-time job. How I'm going to do that I'm not sure but we'll see!
Alaina, that sounds great. Yea you definitely should limit the freebies and start getting paid for sponsored reviews, giveaways, etc. As for the digital magazine, that will be great for selling sponsored spots too.
Looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds for you!
Loving your enthusiasm, Alaina! :)
I agree with Angie. Also, there are some good resources that should prove helpful to you with your goals in my latest post at: http://www.clicknewz.com/5882/affiliate-niche/
Lynn,
I am severely unhappy and embarrassed to say this but I'm spinning my wheels. I did not use the forum effectively or really often enough as I have many questions I have not found answers to. I live with fear and self doubt an have sabotaged my self once again. I really need your help in 2013 to brainstorm and make changes.
Don't be embarrassed. You're certainly not alone! ;-) Come into the Private Forum area since you are an Elite Member and let me know what your questions are. I'll help you get back on the right track. :)
(If you're not sure where to post in the Private Forum, just post anywhere - I'll move it to the correct category if it needs to be. Don't let anything stop you. The community will chip in and help out!)
Alecia,
Definitely let 2013 be YOUR year. You can do this. One step at a time!
I need a starting point, where I can follow a path that makes money. I just need to begin somewhere. Selling a product or whatever. Just something that brings in a cash flow where I can see a result. What would you recommend?
Welcome Pat :)
There's a 10-step checklist at the end of this post:
http://www.clicknewz.com/2343/how-to...for-beginners/
If that raises any questions, simply start a new thread here in the forum and we'll help you out!
This is month 4 since I started Internet marketing. Like ShariLee says If I could see some signal I will push harder. However in the time that I have I am doing all I can. I am getting some traffic but no conversions.
Welcome CBD :)
Feel free to start a new thread and we can take a look at your site and marketing strategy.
Katrina,
Did you want this post in the elite section? Right now it's on the main forum but since we are brainstorming your biz in the elite group, it might be best there. What do you think?
Lynn is still recuperating from both of her surgeries so she's not back on the forum quite yet.
Hi Angie...oopsie, wrong place I guess huh? Ok can you move it to the Elite group? I saw that Lynn is still out of commission. Well, until she can get bk on board and weigh in, maybe some people in the group have some suggestions...I hope
I really feel so unorganized in my approach, so I am sure that slows me down as far as making real progress. What to do first...I guess put a lot of effort into Social media and Keyword research...?
Welcome! We look forward to having you join the elite brainstorming group. Lynn helps us step by step in there, from beginners who don't even have a site or niche chosen to those of us who have had home businesses for years. Such a great group, you won't be disappointed.
Welcome Moosh! :)
If you have any questions just let us know!
Thank you Robitay!
I look forward to brainstorming with you in the private forum area.
If you have questions about choosing the right niche, or getting things set up, don't hesitate to ask!
I recommend this guide as a blueprint to follow: http://www.clicknewz.com/7480/affiliate-survival-guide/
Excellent step-by-step tutorial! :)
I don't recommend traffic exchanges. You want to get targeted traffic and those that do exchanges are just doing it for one another and are not really your target market. Even if they were they are just there to click on sites. It's a vicious cycle:confused:
What are you currently doing to drive traffic to your site? I would highly recommend social media, guest posting, optimizing your site and blog posts and things like that.
You can find some GREAT tips that really work on Lynn's blog in her Website Traffic Q&A category.
Hope this helps!
I agree. You want to get in front of your target market directly.
Also see: http://www.clicknewz.com/3091/organi...ting-strategy/
Traffic Exchanges are old school. The more organic and varied your marketing strategy, the better, particularly with current algorithms.
Right now I am no where with my online business but soon I would love to see myself somewhere atleast making some money by following a lot of the advice on this website..
Been hammering the Internet for right at 10 years now.
Written ebooks.
Published e-newsletter to 4,000 subscribers.
Started blogs.
Earned affiliate commissions.
Still scratching my head.........
I have a question for the group. Some time ago I was a member of the private group and Terry and Angie helped me alot with setting up my blog. I dropped out of the private group because my husband was ill and I did not have the time to devote to the forum nor my blog. I like the way my blog is set up, and I have a few posts on it but here is my issue, I am not interested in the subject I chose: Online shopping tips and my favorite products. I have no desire to write product reviews. I find that I am more intersted in a personal blog about aging and staying healthy (I can still promote products I believe in and use).
I would like to keep the name BilliesFinds because its my ebay and amazon ID, is this wise or should I go in a different direction?
If I were to keep the name what do I do with the articles that I have on the siite? Should they be redirected and maybe put on a blogger blog?
The other day Jim Cockrum stated in his newsletter SEO id Dead, that kind of statement if I choose to buy into this, it makes it harder to do the work of a blog.
My blog is http://www.Billiesfinds.com
Billie
Hi Billie! Welcome back. I would just keep your blog name and not worry about it. You're going to optimize posts and pages not the domain so I wouldn't worry about it.
SEO is not dead lol If you do it correctly, it works.
I would keep your blog posts, just file them under appropriate categories as you go along. Just start writing about the things you want to write about.
Hope to see you back in the elite forum for more in depth brainstorming.
Great to see you, Billie! :)
I agree with Angie. And for SEO to be dead, all of the search engines would have to... disappear. :P Just start blogging on the topics you want to focus on, they are still tips & products (ie "finds"). And be sure to target the keyword phrases people are searching for related to your topics as you write.
*cheers*
Hello everyone!
I am Alex, and one of the new members of the website! Being accepted here happened at a perfect time for me as I am getting discouraged with my businesses. I am a beginner who has made many many mistakes so far and is learning from them, but right now I feel I am stuck for I don't know exactly what to do next.
In September last year I purchased an affiliate course from another person and I also paid for somebody to create a whole niche website for me with article spinning, etc. As you can imagine, I invested quite a lot of money with a wordpress premium theme, article writing, keyword research software, and more recently with link building, but all of my 5 websites are not getting any traffic (around 1 or 2 visitors a day) and I had ZERO sales so far.
I am pretty sure my first mistake was to pick the wrong keywords and one thing is leading to another. On the other hand, I am confident I can still fix the websites and start to make some money, because it's been "only" 4 months I own these websites.
I am hoping to get lots of advice from you guys and from Lynn, and maybe contribute with what I have learned so far. One thing I can say for sure: I am not afraid of failing and learning from my mistakes, and I am also very persistent and enjoy educating myself on what I do. I have no marketing background or similar, but I have been listening to many podcasts related to internet marketing, because I want to succeed really badly in this business!
Sorry for the long post, thank you guys for your comments!
Cheers,
Alex
Alex,
Definitely come and post to brainstorm in the elite section below. We can dig in and get your site(s) turned around.
Will do! Thanks for the reply, angie!
Welcome Alex :)
I look forward to brainstorming with you in the private members area! Your experience is common, but that's not a good way to start a solid online business. Outsourcing link building in particular can really shoot you in the foot. I'm glad you joined us. I look forward to seeing what you do in 2014 - and hearing GREAT results!! ;-)
Hi,
I'm brand new in the business. Looking for direction at this point.
Welcome Camrog :)
This is a good starting point:

At the moment i am involved in a coaching program..for 52weeks my coach is a 7figure earner..

also teaching us how to drive traffic to our content...and creating accounts
with a few forums is apart of the program to give value..
how to write an ezine article?
contacting blog owners to exchange content
just a few im learning to market my blog..
Hi Memory,
That sounds like a fun coaching program! I offer a similar option at http://www.NicheSuccessBlueprint.com
How long have you been involved, or what week are you on in the program?
at the moment we are on week 8
how to write an ezine article
distribute to article directories
and contact blog owners to exchange content
and create newsletters to send out to our subscribers and
add content to our blogs..
so yes so far i have learnt so much
it was overwhelming at first but now i got the hang of it..i love it!
Content Marketing is a great investment in your business. Writing articles for article directories is a bit "old school" when it comes to marketing via content, just FYI. Just keep in mind that you want to reach your market with a relevant message, something they're searching for, and give them the answer to their query. Serve your market, offer value, and lead them to the "next best click". :)
We are making little progress despite that we been here for years. So, I'm hoping that I can get more useful insights to your blog. And, your blog never fail me. I get lots of useful insights there. Thanks, Lynn!
Thank you Ridgley! :)
What do you feel is holding you back from making better progress?
