I don't think this type of list-building works well in businesses that are not IM-related, but I'm not sure. I know that Tony Shepherd uses solos almost exclusively now for driving traffic.

The trick is to look carefully at the feedback that each person has received. Tony also recommends buying smaller ads (they go by number of clicks) since most sellers overdeliver, so you get more for your money that way. Also, it's a good way to test someone out.

The other trick is to test everything, and have a good free offer with an even better backend offer that can pay for the ad with just a few sales.

I'm not doing a great job of testing right now, but I'm still in the early stages. That said, I've added at least 200 subscribers to my list in the last month that were just from solos. Not many unsubscribes either, which seems counterintuitive. It's tough for me to tell how many of these have become customers though because people use different emails for subscriptions vs. PayPal.

If you find out any other good info, I'd love to hear!
Thanks so much for the info...sounds good
