Yes, "The Quiet One" hawking in for FireFTP :P. It is a Firefox add on and it works beautifully for me.
I've used several FTP clients over the years, from paid (WS_FTP Pro) to other free clients (Smart FTP) and really like FireFTP.
That said, Filezilla is another popular FTP program and if I had to make another recommendation, that would be it.![]()

Funny you ask because until just recently thanks to Traci and some other fine friends I learned what FTP was LOL I don't currently use one, Kev and I just do it all via Host Gator and XSitePro does it automatically. I'm not even sure how to explain it all to him so I'll look forward to a tutorial![]()
One more vote here for FileZilla. I've tried FireFTP, but can't get it to work.
So maybe a tutorial on FireFTP would be helpful.![]()
Filezilla is fantastic and works with all kinds of browsers too. I can easily fin the doc on my hard drive and upload. Also I tie it in with notepadlight wchi alllows for easier editing and finding what I want in the text editor.
Here's a link to notetab light if you don't already have it >

Filezilla -- no question. Open source and automatic updates.
I used to use SmartFTP when it was free. It's not longer free.
I now have both CoffeeCup FTP and FireFTP ....
and most of the time I still just use plain old Windows. (start -> network connections -> enter your ftp info, then drag and drop like you would between folders)
This has always been a thorny issue with me. On my old computer Win 2K PC, I used WS-FTP, but it wouldn't work on my new XP machine. I tried several of these programs, including Filezilla, but could not persuade them to connect. I think there can be issues with your online connection and, possibly, your OS configuration. I finally found one called Core FTP Lite that works well for me.

I love Filezilla, I just added it on my laptop too with no problems. I find it much faster and more reliable than uploading files through cpanel, which is how I used to do it.
