I'm not sure that pretty dresses has a good ring to it. I would still stick with dress shop but I'm not saying it wouldn't work. Just don't worry about it being a KW phrase for the domain.
Go ahead and get started!
I noticed also that you are no longer an elite member. As an elite member you get a lot more specific help on your business than here in the main forum so I recommend that you sign up again if you still want more one on one help.
Great I see you signed back up to the elite group. You'll want to start a new thread probably in the Beginners Brainstorming forum in the elite section. That way what we share will be private.
I think you should go for Sonas Dress Shop (or whatever name you want to go by and then dress shop).
Then for finding affiliate programs, you'll just go to places like linkshare.com, pepperjamnetwork.com, cj.com, all affiliate networks and do a search for clothing/fashion, etc. Then you'll go through their list and find the companies that fit best and request approval.
The big thing is they will want you to have some traffic, content, etc. before they will approve so I would get your domain, hosting account, upload Wordpress and get it all started. Do an about page, intro post and for now if you are an Amazon affiliate, you can use that.
Do your keyword research for categories, blog posts, pages, etc.
Once you have your domain and hosting and have uploaded a Wordpress theme, start a new thread in the elite forum so we can then brainstorm where to go next.
If you brand it without your name, it gives you a good exit strategy later. You will be able to sell the site, bring on a team of writers, etc. Something short and catchy that appeals to your target market, such as the examples above.
I agree with Angie on building out the site first, and then finding merchants to work with. You shouldn't have a problem finding them for this site - and we can help you locate some good potential opportunities.
