In a recent post on Aaron Wall's SEO Blog, he discusses the current debate on blog networks that broker deals between advertisers and bloggers. I have to admit, it was nice to see a realistic point of view on this coming from a well-known and highly respected blogger:
"The big reason that people are against open networks, paid placement, free markets, paying individuals what they are worth, or anything that redistributes power is that many of the most powerful sources in the world stand to lose power if we question authority. And so they must play down the roll of or try to undermine the credibility of competing business models (or anything that threatens the ideology they sell or their business model). Nothing new there, it has been going on forever (even if the sources of power do not hold themselves to the same standards they want to hold amateurs to)."
I've always been a big fan of Aaron's, and particularly of his popular SEO Book & Blog, but this particular post won big points from me. 😉
His SEO Book, by the way, is the one guide that I recommend more than any other when it comes to learning SEO (Search Engine Optimization). You can get a lot of great tips from his blog, but the book is a step-by-step easy approach to SEO that will help anyone to achieve better search engine rankings.
And here's some disclosure for you (*wink*): I joined Aaron Wall's affiliate program after I purchased and read the SEO Book myself. I read it from front to back, found a lot of great information and useful resources inside, and really liked the fact that he keeps it up-to-date without fail.
It is well worth the time and money spent to download and read Aaron's guide on SEO, versus spending countless hours (and days and months) trying to figure it all out on your own... or figure out good advice from useless advice across the various discussion forums.
So yes, my links to Aaron's blog & book are "affiliate links" - meaning that I earn commission on sales that result from my recommendation. But that doesnt change the fact that his SEO Book is the best resource on the market for learning Search Engine Optimization... or that his SEO Blog is one you should add to your daily reading 😉 .
Best,

At 290 pages you probably won't read it all in one setting or probably understand all he is trying to get across in only one reading. But it is one of the better books on SEO that I've come across and am glad I've purchased it.
