IMA Course Sold Out In 14 Minutes…

The IMA Course sold out within 14 minutes of launch this morning.

I was planning to register for this incredible opportunity to work with John Reese personally, and of course offer a full review, but I had to be away from my desk during that exact block of time. Here's the email that came in from John shortly after:

I just wanted to say "Thanks!" to
everyone that was interested in the
IMA Class.

The class sold out in about 14 minutes.

If you tried to go to the registration page
at 12:15pm or later, then you were greeted
with the "SOLD OUT" page.

Many people have already emailed
and asked if there is a "waiting list" for
more spots or if there will be some sort
of "second chance" offer.

Unfortunately, no. We're completely full.

Yours For Online Profits,

John Reese

It was never told the exact number of registrants that were being accepted for the course, but obviously that number was met. I would be interested to know how many were accepted - wouldnt you? πŸ˜‰

    Lynn,

I was sent a link for early registration on
Sunday. So I think, but do not really know,
that most of the spots were probably gone
    on Sunday.

One of my new years things is NOT to buy
anything this year until I have finished the
backlog of stuff I already own.

So I passed on IMA. Which for a serial buyer
like myself wasn't easy. Frank Kern's thing for
February 1st is another one I would like to buy.
    But alas...

    Thanks,
    Paul Bergman

P.S. Saturday sounds like a blast have fun...

  2. Hi Lynn,

I agree and surely would like to know the number of registrants to his class. Around a couple hundred sounds like a good number to me. Once you find out Lynn, let us know.

    God Bless,
    Maurice

p.s. I'm with you Paul on finishing what I had already purchased for this year.

  3. Yes, it should be interesting if its ever disclosed. Interesting about the early registration, Paul - I didnt get word on that. Just as well I suppose - back to the projects at hand πŸ˜‰

  4. I have to echo the sentiments Maurice and Paul. I find myself purchasing product after product. Each one viable in its own right. It's like jumping from train to train. I need to complete what I've started. However, I like the fact that you keep your readers up to date.

    Thanks
    Wes

  5. I don't know much about John Reese but I hope this is not a slick marketing gimmick to publicize the course has been sold out. Is this the same John Reese of Blogrush? That's why I prefer to buy products from no hype and off the radar successful Internet Marketing Advisor like you Lynn ;-). Cheers

  6. I have to agree with Paul also...I have so many wonderful eBooks (about the subjects for projects that I need boosting on like blogging) and also regular books...but I am sure it would have been a great course. πŸ˜€

I knew it would sell out in a matter of minutes. He has the magic touch. lol Maybe he'll offer another class later this year. One can hope.

Incredible, you know thousands of people religiously 'follow' John Reese and waiting eagerly to order his products and services.

I was also away for few days and only seeing this on your blog now πŸ™

  9. Melissa Ingold says

Wow, that is incredible! If only we could all do that, lol. I'm curious to know as well how many people were accepted.

  10. I'll be sure to let you guys know if I find out...

    Thank you, Kendra πŸ™‚

I did get in the classs-I am very excited & will give an update in a week or two...

  12. Wow, that's amazing, Lynn - 14 minutes? Guess I missed it even if I wanted in. (I've been swamped, so I'm just now catching up on my list/blog reading.)

But as you've said Lynn, it could all be for the best -- it's important to stick with one thing, especially in the early stages, before bouncing to another.

Also, Kendra, John Reese is a very well respected marketer who's enjoyed quite a bit of success in the IM field.

I can't remember when it was, but a while ago, John sent out a newsletter that he was no longer putting affiliate recommendations in his newsletters/mailings. That meant anything he told his list about was something he genuinely believed in and not because of the monetary compensation he would receive.

It was a bold move indeed, but it also make me realize that he is at a place where he doesn't need to peddle every "hot new product" that comes rolling down the line. It's also one of the things that's kept me subscribed to his list, too.

  13. Hi Lynn,

I don't know if you'd be interested in this or not but another major Internet Mrktg guru, Frank Kern, is offering a major course, I think it's on Feb 1st or 2nd, and he has a bunch of FREE Videos on Mass Control and inside info on The Biggest Launches in Internet Marktg History which leads into the signup for the Main Course, 30 Days To Mass Control video course. A 4 week course, plus a bunch of neat freebies. Here is the link for his 1st Free Video on Mass Control:

  14. Hi Lynn

Got in the class. He commented on the last few minutes of the first day after 4.5 hours of rambling he still had 60 people signed in. Many refunds that day and if it would have been left open for refunds the next day he would not have enough left to teach. Horrible course! One major mistake! He marketed to his educated list and is giving a kindergarten course. To bad what a waist of money. I hope he reads this and pulls his head out and gets off the "John Reese" show and delivers some top quality information.

I missed that issue, but I'll look back through my archives. Just this week he promoted Mass Control with an affiliate link...

  16. Hi Tom,

Thanks for giving us your review on the IMA course. I was curious how it was going, as I hadnt heard anything at all - which I thought was odd.

I assume you attended the other 2 days as well? If so, would love to know if you walked away with a better perception or still disappointed?

    I noticed that as well.

I believe it was in 2006 or early 2007 that I vaguely remember the e-mail coming through. I tried to dig through my Gmail archives with no luck -- he's sent out quite a bit of mailings in that time.

Of course, I could be wrong or just misinterpreted his message.

  18. Regardless I enjoy the teachings of John Reese and am of course interested to hear more reviews of the IMA course. It should be fun to watch income.com and TS 2.0 unfold this year as well.

  19. John made this promise on his income.com blog in June 2007:

    http://www.income.com/blog/2007/06/11/bye-bye-affiliate-links/

But has quietly gone back to using aff links, unless these fall under the rubric of "rare exceptions."

  20. Thank you for the link, Freddy. Reading over that, it does ring a bell - I believe I read that particular issue last Summer too.

  21. It's definitely good to know that I'm not going crazy. πŸ˜€ Thanks for the link, Freddy.

  22. Hi Lynn

I wrote back on Feb 2nd 2008 my disappointment in the John Reese IMA course. To update you as you asked. The disappointment went all the way to the end. It was not that the course had bad information, it just had very litte substance for experienced marketers. He sent out the advertisement to sign up for the course to his long time followers of his Reese Report and other products along, with newby Internet followers. He promised hard core stuff, right to the point, no crap and delivered marshmellows that took over double the time to deliver! Had I been a brand new Internet Marketer I would have been raving all over myself. But frankly the stuff he delivered was for the first year marketer, someone who does not understand business at all or anything about the Internet. An 8-5er with to much money and no knowledge of being an entrepreneurial business person. The questions he chose to answer were from gitty people obviously not well versed with entrepreneurial skills. For me he lost a very loyal very long term customer. I have spent over $1,200.00 a year with him for the past 3 years. The cost of the course was outragous for the information given infact a hugh insult, to experienced followers. So all you marketers out there. What I did learn! There is always something good in everything, here it is! Divide courses into blocks or segments, or offer more than one course. But never put your old time customers lumped into your brand new customers and try to market to them all, at one time, through one course. Never focus on making new money while ignoring old money. Your old money (old customers) are your foundation new money (new customers) come and go. After 25 years of business this I know for a fact!

  23. Thanks for the review, Tom. Yours is actually the ONLY feedback I've heard on the IMA course. Which is surprising really...

    It was guaranteed, no?
