SNL6: Day Two in Atlanta

Its the second full day of the StomperNet Live6 conference, and its been an eventful weekend already. I sat in on 3 of the 5 sessions on Friday's schedule: Jerry West, Dan Thies and Howie Schwartz - in that order.

Rich Shefren spoke first thing this morning, which I sat in on briefly before trading that in for breakfast with Sherman Hu, Dave Taylor and Dan Thies. Other than that, I've taken it much easier on this second day...

I have had very limited internet access, which has been frustrating. On the one hand, its really awesome to be in the company of hundreds of like-minded ebiz people for an entire weekend. But on the other, I have to confess that I miss my home office conveniences. Like 24 hour access to blogging & tweeting, in a quiet comfortable spot where I can sip coffee in my PJs πŸ˜› .

Its not a bad trade-off though. I feel out of touch with my community at the moment, but its a much needed break I'm sure and I'll be home and back to my routine soon enough. And like I said, the people here are awesome. Not just the speakers and the Stompernet faculty, but all of the individual members I've met over the last couple of days too.

Jerry West's presentation first thing yesterday was incredible! And no, that's not Jerry West the basketball player. It's Jerry West of SEO Revolution and Web Marketing Now. I took more notes while he was speaking yesterday than I have any other time this weekend. He is an all-around super impressive guy, no matter what topic he's speaking on.

Dan Thies spoke on keyword strategy, which was another great session. He made some really good points. I had a bit of an a-ha! moment regarding the optional excerpt in WordPress. Totally unrelated to his presentation, but relevant to me personally. If you havent already, be sure to download his free seo ebook.

He has been working on something new behind the scenes for the last few months too, so I'll be sure to give you full details as soon as I get them πŸ˜‰

Howie Schwartz spoke on The Social Side of SEO. He gave some very specific resources and facts, based on case studies which he also shared in his presentation. Howie was one of my favorite speakers at the last SN event in April, and I enjoyed him just as much this 2nd time around. He's a little aggressive for my taste, but always resourceful and specific.

I also had opportunity to meet Ross Golberg and Ken Burge yesterday, president of InfoMedia Inc (Joel Comm's company), while I was talking to Tom Ham. Tom is the absolute best affiliate manager in the world in my opinion - and the affiliate manager for Stompernet of course.

As I said, its been an eventful weekend. Ed Dale is here for the conference as well, and is hosting a meet-up for 30-Day Challenge participants here in Atlanta tonight. I may step in for that briefly, but have dinner plans at 8pm with Adriana & Carrie.

I'll share some of my notes and more details with you as I get opportunity. Its not convenient to sit and blog here, so the best option is to follow me on Twitter until I get back to my office: http://www.twitter.com/lynnterry

Sounds good Lynn...Looks like you are having a good time...I am downloading the free seo report.

  2. You've got me all intrigued with you "ah-ha" moment regarding WordPress excerpts... I haven't downloaded Dan Thies' ebook either, which I plan to do on this uneventful Sunday.

Internet withdrawal... It's a pretty crazy thing.

  3. You'll enjoy Dan's free download πŸ˜‰

I got a chance to join Ed Dale's meetup for a few minutes and it was awesome. He is even better in person than he is in video (like I would know, right? lol). Also Adriana and I had an awesome dinner with Carrie of CarrieLauth.com last night. Will share more as soon as I get opportunity. At the moment I am heading into a confidential roundtable with Ed Dale, Dan Thies & Jerry West...
