Avatars are great for forums, websites and social networks like MySpace. The more original the better! If you've ever wondered how to create your own avatar - or how some people come up with such COOL avatars - read on...
I found an easy avatar creator today, and created the avatar that you see to the right. Yes, that's my imaginary version of myself 😛
I started out by choosing one feature at a time:
You simply continue to add to your avatar or change things around, until you get the look that you want. It's free, and it's tons of fun! Of course you can get creative and make mermaids or fairies, create male or female images, add hats or pets, etc.
Once you put the avatar together, selecting from a variety of models and options, they will give you a link to use on forums or other websites. Or they will email you a copy of the image. Did I mention its all free?
It might be neat to create themed avatars for different times of the year - seasons, holidays, etc. You could even "party on!" when it's your birthday, if you're a regular at certain forums, etc. It's a great way to draw some attention and spice up your networking!
You have to create your avatar at the Dress Up Games at the Doll Palace, and then click "Save" to get a copy of it. Here are some other examples of avatars that you can create:
If you create your own avatar, I'd like to see it! Simply trackback to this post or comment below with a link to it. Let us all have a look!
Of course, if you have pre-teen girls in the house, they are going to love this one! It's a digital version of dress-up dolls 😉
Have some fun with it!

I love avatars. I change mine daily. I choose a new haircut or hair color or a new jewelry, anything new. This one looks great! Thank you for posting!
You're welcome - Glad you enjoyed it!
Dear Lynn,
Thanks for the great referral, I am almost done with my website and have been looking for an icon for myself and my biz that I can animate, dress for different occasions, etc. I went and created my doll but how do you use the doll 1) without the doll palace logo running down the side, 2) enlarge it like you did without warping and distortion, 3) get the cool background stars like you did? Thanks again for the great tip.
The background stars were part of the background options at the site. And the saved versions you see were just done using the save feature. They may have changed it since I last tried it... but I'm not sure?
