I have noticed lately that my blog spam has looked more and more like little stories or actual comments than just a list of random links... but today I found two rather funny spam comments awaiting moderation:
GAMES FOR WHEN WE ARE OLDER
1. Sag, you’re It.
2. Hide and go pee.
3. 20 questions shouted into your good ear.
4. Kick the bucket
5. Red Rover, Red Rover, the nurse says Bend Over.
6. Musical recliners.
7. Simon says something incoherent.
8. Pin the Toupee on the bald guy
We all know those little computer symbols called “emoticons,â€
where:-) means a smile and
-( is a frown.Sometimes these are represented by

-(Well, how about some “ASSICONS?â€
Here goes:(_!_) a regular ass.
(__!__) a fat ass.
(!) a tight ass.
(_*_) a sore ass.
_!_ a swishy ass.
(_o_) an ass that’s been around.
(_x_) kiss my ass.
(_X_) leave my ass alone.
(_zzz_) a tired ass.
(_E=mc2_) a smart ass.
(_$_) Money coming out of his ass
(_?_) Dumb Ass.
Of course, they snuck in several links to prescription drug sites, and the comments were completely unrelated to the blog posts they were left on, but I couldnt pass up sharing these with you. Our spammers are getting more creative... and even a little funny! 😛

Geez...all I get is dirty jokes...
Lynn you really are (_E=mc2_) a smart ass, if only for being creative and capitlising on spammers efforts! 😉
Great post..
Rob.. > (_!_) a regular ass. 🙂
LOL - Some of them are FUNNY but its quite annoying to be honest. I used to be able to do a super-quick scan of the comments and mass delete the obvious spam. Now I have to look a bit closer to make sure I am not deleting legitimate comments, as they are starting to look more and more alike!
Some of them are super-sneaky, putting in little one-liners that dont really seem like spam... but if you approve them once, then ALL of their future comments are automatically approved (depending on your settings of course, that is how mine works).
So a little comment like "great post!" on a 3-month old entry... is definitely suspicious. Watch out for those! 😉
ROFL!! This has got to be the funniest spam I've seen in a while. I may actually start using some of those assicons. 😀
You know what you need, Lynn? Akismet. Seriously, I installed it on the OptiNiche blog less than a month ago and it's already trapped about 15,000 spam comments.
The rough part is needing to scroll through for any false positives, but they added a new feature which makes it virtually foolproof. Less than 0.01% of the spam trapped is a false positive.

P.S. How come I never get funny spam like that? Not that I'm asking for more spam or anything. LOL
Thank you Teli - I am off to download it now! Thank you for the recommendation 😉
Hi Lynn,
I've been reading your blog for a while now and I really like it. But this post is so funny, I just had to leave a comment.
I'm not getting any spam nearly as entertaining on my blog. Teli's right. Akismet will block most of this stuff. And Bad Behavior's pretty good, too.
I hope you don't mind. I've got to show this post to some people who'll really enjoy it even though they're not internet marketers.
Thanks for the laugh.
hi lynn,
i am glad you do not moderate your comments. neither do i. sometimes you may get funny stuff. hopefully honest, genuine stuff. either way one can make you giggle and one can make you provide your readers with what they truly want.
opps. you do moderate your comments. why?
Yes - I have to... In the last week alone I have gotten almost 2,000 comments that were blatant spam. Many of them for adult related websites, off topic from the original post, etc.
I would probably settle for spam comments atm, any comments at all would be nice. One person commented on my first blog post and now I just feel bad for her cos nobody said anything back (In the end I replied myself) Not quite making the millions I had expected from the internets.
