MyLot is a new Social Networking community that pays members to start discussions, join discussions, and basically use & enjoy the community.
I signed up for an account myself, and decided to sit down this morning and check it out. I started by trying to customize my profile, but really had no clue what I was doing. I added a couple of pictures, and then skipped to the Add/Edit Interests section...
From there it asks you a series of questions such as what kind of movies and music you like, your favorite foods, pets that you have, sports that you enjoy, hobbies, things you'd like to do with your life, etc.
Once you set up your profile and tell MyLot about your interests, you can join in all of the discussions going on in various categories. You can start by looking at the days most popular discussions or most recent discussions - or you can view the discussions that match your personal interests.
It is a very intuitive site, from the interest-related discussions to the ads that appear at the top of the page. All of this is served up based on what you entered in your profile, and it makes it all very interesting - and incredibly addictive!
How You Earn Money at MyLot
There are two ways to make money with the MyLot community: 1) participate in the discussions and various options on the site (such as photo voting), and 2) refer new members to the site.

When you refer new members, you get a bonus equal to 25% of their earnings. MyLot doesnt take that percentage out of the members' earnings, but pays you the bonus directly for your referrals.
In addition, you earn an amount for each discussion that you start, comment on or participate in at the MyLot community. Different contributions that you make score different earnings, based on the quality and popularity of the content you add.
I have no idea what the earning potential is with this site for someone who becomes completely addicted and starts popular discussions on a daily basis. You do get to include a link to your website on your profile, and choose the Link Text for that hyperlink as well. Becoming active in discussions that relate to your website could result in a great source for targeted traffic.
MyLot will also let you put their content on your site, by way of javascript. This serves up the latest discussions, or discussions based on keywords. Here are 3 examples:
It would take a bit of testing, but I am willing to bet you could use MyLot as a means to generate targeted traffic, set up a free one-way link to your site, and also earn a little cashola in the process...

Mylot has grown nearly up to 100,000 users from different countries. They have incorporated a new customizable home page for the users (May be a simple thing but denotes that Mylot is still developing). They have also recently added some new interests in which you can post discussions or reply to existing discussions. The interests range from Sports & Movies to Politics and Government. Unfortunately, this article, like many others, is out of date and may be misleading people into joining the site with the hope of earning.
MyLot ended their earnings program on May 1st 2013 and you can no longer earn by posting there.

I love MyLot. I receive money from them each month via Paypal with little effort. Most of my income comes from my referrals but I do tend to participate once in a while 🙂
