Join me live tonight: August 20th at 9pm EST, for the 4th Annual Hot Seminar series. I'll be the featured speaker, and my topic is "Social Marketing Revelation".
Kelly McCausey is taking special requests via Twitter if you have questions about Social Marketing that you would like answered. Or you are welcome to leave them in the comments section below. If there's something specific you want to hear more about, let us know 😉
This event was originally scheduled for June 20th, but was postponed until tonight. The series is FREE if you attend live. You can sign up for details and find more information about my topic at http://www.hotseminarseries.com/. I hope to see you there!
Best,
Hi Lynn.
That'd be great to join in. As i'm from a different timezone, I am going to miss it.
But I do have couple of Questions:
"With so many social media mushrooming on the net, its both time consuming and overwhelming to update on all profiles. Twitter is great but has basic features. New tools are emerging with cool features like utterz, 12seconds.tv tempt me. Should we stick to good ol' twitter or signup for more?
Q2) Therez a sensitive line b/w networking and marketing on social media. What best ways can we adopt to get the desired balance?
I hope these questions will be answered in the seminar and later discussed in the forum.
I am definitely trying to attend Lynn. Hopefully I'll see you there.
I missed the seminar Lynn. Can I access a recording of it? Do you archive them somewhere? Thanks, Dave
Hi Dave - the live event was free to attend, but there is an option to purchase the archives from the entire seminar series at http://www.hotseminarseries.com/ . Its inexpensive ($27 I believe) and includes some great interviews!
Elijah - did you get a chance to attend live? I really enjoyed the seminar - what a fun group! I had a hard time keeping up with all the names that were in the list while speaking at the same time, so I wasnt sure if you were in or not.
Sorry you couldnt join us live, Shri. Great questions, and yes they were addressed during the seminar. As for which sites or tools you use for Social Marketing, it really depends on your niche and on what works best for your business model. For example, MySpace is the place for bands. Twitter is the place for bloggers. Etc.
The important thing is to get the concept down, and then choose the tools or networks that suit your objective best.
Keep that 80/20 rule in mind too (20% of what you do brings in 80% of your results) and stick to what works best - dont try to spread yourself too thin 😉
Lynn,
Just by chance I attended this event last night. What a great decision for me--especially since I almost didn't attend.
In particular, two points you made really resonated with me: "it's not a competition", and "you had a list of '9' when you sent your first newsletter."
Well, I have a list that's even less than that and have held off sending an ezine--even though I have had a template and autoresponder for some time.
Your experience has encouraged me to get busy and get my ezine ready after all, and then to send it.
The rest of the session was awesome, as well.
Something I've learned to expect (to receive) when I see something associated with you.
Thank you.
What a high compliment, Karen - thank you!
I'm glad you enjoyed the topic. I think we covered A LOT in that 90 minutes, so I imagine everyone walked away with something unique to their situation to work with. Glad to hear you found something particularly useful to you!
Oh God! I so regret for missing it.
Thx loads Lynn for answering my questions. I will work through a mix & match + trial & error method and hopefully arrive at a strategy after some time.
I'm very inspired after reading Karen's comment. Will work on my ezine tonight.
