Out of the depths of Joel Comm's recent Forced Continuity fiasco, comes a shiny new in-hand report titled The Top 1%.
This report was not made publicly available, but rather mailed to those who ordered Adsense Secrets 4.0 during the surprising $9.95 re-release.
The original adsense guide sold for $97. You can get a copy of 4.0 for only $9.95 here though, which still includes access to a trial of the Top 1% report.
The bonus to that $9.95 ebook was the Premier Edition of the Top 1% report, sent to your mailbox for free, with an option to continue receiving it at $29.95/month.
I received my copy a few weeks ago...
I was impressed when I opened the envelope. What came out was a 16-page high-gloss full-color magazine-style report, along with a bonus CD. The CD was labeled "Volume 1: Product Launch Secrets".
Before I give you a full review on the physical report, it should be noted that part of the $29.95/month package also includes access to a private social network by the same name. I received access to the Top 1% Network the week before my package arrived. It currently has almost 500 members - and growing.
The Top 1% Report immediately put me in mind of a magazine more so than a report. When I think "report", I associate it with 20-50 pages printed out in black & white on my old trusty laserjet printer. If you look at the image at the top right of this post, you'll see exactly what it looks like. That's no "cover graphic" - its an actual photo of the report & CD.
The first thought that popped into my head came from the Internet Marketing side of my brain: Wow Joel, way to raise the bar!
Then I sat down and actually read the report.
A quick flip through this "mini mag" tells you that it is obviously put together by a professional. Not a professional Internet Marketer - a professional magazine editor.
The report is not written by Joel Comm alone, but by Joel and his personal team which he claims is 'some of the best talent in business'. After I was done analyzing the format & layout (impressive) I read the Forward Thinking article inside the front cover by Ken Burge. It was good (real good), and got me interested in 'meeting' the rest of Joel's team...
Every single page had a good take-away, in my opinion. The first three pages made me think. Page one was an introduction to the Top 1%, page 2 & 3 were short articles on deep topics that offered practical (actionable) advice. At this point, I'm liking the way these guys think.
Page 4 gives you 3-steps to crafting emails that get results
Page 5 offers a step-by-step strategy for creating better headlines
Page 6 outlines 5 simple (often overlooked) tips for writing emails
Page 7 has 7 important questions you must answer before you even begin building your mailing list
Pages 8-9 discuss basic SEO structure (excellent!)
Pages 9-11 explain Click Tracking and how to use it to increase conversions
This is just a sampling of the content of course - there is much more. If you have a copy, make sure you dont miss the Hot Blogging Tip on page 14 😉
The authors of each article werent just speaking in concept. They each went into detail on the "how to" aspect of their topic, offering a mini blueprint or step-by-step process for achieving the desired results. Bottom line: each article was more than just "great content" - it was an actionable tip.
Next, I popped the Volume 1: Product Launch Secrets CD into my computer... which is when I realized its not a CD at all, but a DVD - so it will actually play on your television if you prefer not to watch it at the computer.
Cool with me. I dont really like video, so I'll save that one for "movie night".
(my next date will love that, eh? hehe)
All said and done I was impressed with the Top 1% Report, and have decided to continue receiving it - along with access to the private Top 1% social network. $30 is a small price to pay for even one great tip or idea gleaned from the material. Besides, I liked it.
I'll also say this: Its worth $30 alone just to be associated with ~500 other people in a private setting who obviously think the same way 😉
Again, for less than $10 you can get Adsense Secrets 4.0, which is Joel's updated adsense guide (which originally sold for $97) plus a complimentary copy of the next edition of The Top 1% Report, the Bonus DVD, and access to the Top 1% network.
You really cant beat that.

Best,
Lynn,
I already knew I would have to cancel before June 1, long ago, because of my circumstances. And although the layout was slick, (there's that word again...) My first notion was that the large font was either for Baby Boomer's aging eyes, or to not have to include so much copy. (Boy have I gotten jaded lately!)
And after skimming the headlines on each page, I didn't find anything for me where I am right now. I'll admit that I skimmed. I did not stop to read anything except the first page. Sorry. Guess it's where my mind is right now, but it just didn't feel like it was written with me in mind.
So my assessment is only good from a newbie/in-between-bie point of view. Don't just go by me. I've got my own issues... LOL
Deb
Thanks for sharing your perspective, Deb - it should be interesting to hear a good mix of responses. I know there were *thousands* of people that received the Premier Issue but hardly anyone is talking about it (which I find strange).
You mentioned that you just skimmed it. I'm curious if your lack of interest had to do with the fact that you knew beforehand that you werent going to continue the subscription? Just a thought.
I loved the layout myself. It was catchy & colorful and there were lots of cool visuals. The font size was perfect for me too.
Thanks for sharing - I look forward to hearing from others!
Hi Lynn,
Great review and pretty much on target, I don't think I can improve on that. LOL! I enjoyed the print copy of the report and the DVD.
I haven't been able to login to the private membership site yet due to not receiving an activation code. I have submitted my situation to the help desk, and am awaiting a reply.
I knew that I would continue with the subscription if it was at all what was promised, and I am.
I look forward to receiving top notch information each month. $30.00 is cheap even if only one idea proves out and saves me time.
And, I really do get tired of sifting through all the free junk that is on the net nowadays.
Best,
Al
