I hadnt really considered creating a mobile website, and honestly dont know that much about it, so I decided to look into it...

Obviously this is a growing trend, and something that online marketers will want to stay in tune with. In fact, I'm surprised we havent seen a report or info product hit the market yet with a marketing strategy for reaching the mobile users...
The question most marketers will ask first is "How do I create a mobile website?"
Google says:
If you don't currently have a mobile website (and chances are, if you're not sure, then you don't have one), you can create one by rewriting your existing website in a mobile markup language, such as XHTML, WML, or CHTML. You'll also need to make sure the layout of your website is properly formatted to display on mobile phones.
A quick search produced Mobi, a free mobile website design tool. The service is free, doesnt require any technical knowledge, is guaranteed to work consistently across all mobile phones, and even includes a support forum.

Tried a simple solution to mobilizing your normal .com website. Easymobilizer.com lets you copy & paste a line of code to your index file and it detects mobile device and displays your site as a mobile friendly version
Recently designed a site for a client that was mobile phone compliant. It was pretty basic in its functionality but it pleased the client.

The tools you suggested have just been timely for me, even though I haven't started using them, they look very good.
I didn't know anything about mobile advertising, let alone Mobi, have heard of it, but did not think much of it really.

i could not find source code or tutorial for coding for mobile website though i have googled a lot for the same.
There seems to be no limit to the cell phone models coming into the market. With every new model that comes into the market been better than the previous one, people are buying cell phones at a very high rate.
The TLD is essentially irrelevant. What you want to create is a stripped-down version on your webpage either on a subdomain, a different site or within the page using the right parameters.
