When I logged into my Google Adsense account today, I noticed a link about the new click-to-play video ads. Apparently these will appear if you have Image Ads enabled on your sites. Has anyone noticed video ads on their own sites, and if so - care to share your thoughts or results?
From Google:
We've recently launched click-to-play video ads, a new ad format for sites in the AdSense network. Video ads may appear on your site if you're opted into image ads for one of the three ad formats that support video ads: the Medium Rectangle (300 X 250), Large Rectangle (336 X 280), and Square (250 X 250).
When a video ad is served to a page, it will be displayed as a static opening image. Once the user clicks the play button or the opening image, the video will begin playing within the ad space. If the user clicks the display URL at the bottom of the ad, or clicks the ad while it's playing, the user will automatically be taken to the advertiser's website. Users can control the volume and can replay the video if they choose; the video will not automatically replay.
You can choose whether to enable or disable video ads from appearing on your pages.
I'm going to enable Google image/video ads temporarily here on my ClickNewz blog to get an idea for how it works. It will be interesting to see if it makes any difference...

I've noticed the same thing in my adsense account, and did the same thing as you, and enabled my ads. Havent really seen a difference so far though. I, myself think it would be cool to have click videos on my blog, but so far it's looking iffy lol

Yes, since making the changes to my code - I havent noticed any image OR video ads. It may take a few days for them to begin serving different ads, I'm not sure. I'll give it a week and see what happens.
