The Adsense Debate Continues…

I've been busy this past week with some of my own priorities, so I havent kept my ear to the ground on the big Adsense debate since I read Scott Boulch's Life After Adsense report. I thought perhaps the dust would have settled by now - but a quick glance at my inbox tells me it hasnt...

I noticed that Rosalind Gardner mirrored my own thoughts on the topic, saying in her newsletter: "Although I dont completely concur with Scott's 'Adsense is Dead' rant, I do agree that no one should ever rely solely on Adsense, so I think Scott's report is a worthwhile read from that perspective alone."

Joel Comm responded with an Adsense is Alive! report. Prior to that, he sent out an email building anticipation for the report, in which he said:

"Their underhanded methods of ripping off Google and Google's advertisers is no longer effective. Plain and simple."

And in another email:

"Content, content, content.

Write it yourself. Outsource it. Get volunteers to create it.

But one way or another, always add fresh new content."

FamilySeek.org *Ahem* Enough said 😛

There is an affiliate/jv opportunity with Joel's "Adsense is Alive!" report, though I havent signed up for a referral link myself. If this is right for your target market, you might want to check it out - the link will cookie visitors for the upcoming launch of Joel's new Adsense templates.

I'm off to check out Joel's report myself, just to stay in the loop with what's going on in "The Great Adsense Debate". Here's the direct link if you want to take a peek at it: www.adsenseisalive.com .

If you've already read it - or know of some great forum threads about it - leave a comment for us in the Reply section below 😉

I find it amusing that there is so much focus on the title and hype of these reports. He's obviously a smart guy and realizes AdSense isn't dead, and really won't be. His funny fonts, corny covers, outrageous titles and affiliate program did exactly what he wanted it to do, brought people to his site who then signed up for his FREE report. Think about two things that happened:

He got a ton of free press, negative and positive, both valuable.

    He got a huge payoff.

    Brilliant.

Pay attention to the man behind the curtain on this one and you will learn a ton. Pay attention to the fire and smoke and your just spitting in against the wind.

    Cheers,
    J Andrew Morrison

PS: I don't plan on reading Adsense is Alive because I can't imagine what would be interesting in it. Maybe there's another lesson there.

  2. You make a great point, John - and I agree with you on that one. I'll be reading the reports and keeping an eye on the discussions just to stay in the loop with it all... but you are right that there is more to be learned by the strategies and models presented here than the reports 😉

  3. No, AdSense isn't dead, I learned a valuable lesson from your post. Thanks.
