Selling ClickBank Products

When promoting ClickBank products, there are times when it would work out best to link directly to the checkout page instead of the merchants sales copy.

You do need to ask the merchants permission to do this, but they will usually allow you to do that with no problem if it benefits everyone involved.

One situation where this would be useful is if you feel the sales copy on the merchants landing page is weak, and you would like to test your own sales letter for that product. You dont want to send a visitor through two pages of sales copy before they get to the order page.

In order to make a seamless transition to the shopping cart from your website or newsletter, you need to set up a customized version of the ClickBank checkout link. Of course, you want to make sure that you get credit for the sale - so you want to set it up correctly and also test it.

Here is the link format for a clickbank order link with your affiliate ID in it:

clickbank.net/sell.cgi?YOURID_MERCHANTID/ProductNumber/ProductName

All of this needs to be on one line of course, so if it doesnt come out that way when you copy and paste it from this page you will need to fix that.

In this link format ?YOURID_MERCHANTID/ is unique using your clickbank ID and the merchants clickbank ID. You will also need to edit the ProductNumber and ProductName segments as well. You can look at the merchants own checkout link to get this info.

Create your customized link, place it on the web page, and then click on it to make sure that it works correctly. Once you get to the ClickBank checkout page, put in your zip code and then scroll down to the bottom of the payment page to make sure that your affiliate ID shows up at the very bottom. This is how you know that the link works and tracks correctly.

  3. Thank You!

I have been looking for an easy way to do this.

I have seen some other solutions that used page frames and other convoluted nonsense, but your solution is easy and elegant.

  4. Glad you found it helpful! πŸ˜‰
