Sounds good, doesnt it? It sounds even better when you're reading it from a proven expert and viewing screenshots of his stats alongside his blog post.
I'm referring to Darren Rowse, aka ProBlogger. Darren and Andy Wibbels recently put together a course titled Six Figure Blogging that offers "a complete step-by-step, 1-2-3 roadmap for blogging success".Â
No one has ever done a course like this before. This isn't 'What's a blog?' and some piddly advice on using Blogger and stumbling along like a clueless newbie. This is a complete roadmap for making blogging your full-time job.
You probably know Andy Wibbels (aka The Blogging Evangelist) from EasyBakeWeblogs.com. And Darren Rowse of course from ProBlogger.net. These guys have been around for awhile... and they know their stuff 😉
When you sit back and think about it, you have to ask yourself: What's stopping me from making that kind of cash? The answer is simple really. Nothing but a little bit of time.
This has actually been on my mind pretty heavy for the last couple of weeks, as I'm rolling out some new blogs behind the scenes in various (non-internet-marketing) niches. I've been surfing the web, blog hopping a bit, and making note of some incredibly creative "blogs" with amazing income potential.
They're out there. We just dont own them.
So why not? Right? 😀
My little brainstorm actually started when I set up this new WordPress blog. It was so simple, and so much more powerful than my original blog at Blogger, that I began thinking along the lines of "creating affiliate sites with WordPress".
It's the perfect Content Management System, really. And it offers so many benefits over creating static affiliate sites. In fact, I doubt I'll ever do that again... and I'll most likely be converting the sites I have out there already.
I have been putting some serious time into my little network of sites over the last few months. All in line with my goals for 2006. I make decent money online already, sure. But this year I decided that I would invest some time into increasing my income and securing a comfortable future.
Reading over the details of Six Figure Blogging really got me pumped. I've decided that I'm going to grab a copy of this course, learn from the best, and master the technique. And I'm not going to stop until I reach 6 figures... and have Darren and Andy both blogging about me 😉
And just to clarify: I'm not talking about developing "junk sites" or "splogs" (spam blogs). I'm talking about quality RSS-enabled affiliate-driven websites that are set up for long term profits. Good, consistent money rolling in.
This is something that ANYONE can do. It's a legitimate opportunity to make some serious money online. It's something you can do on the side, in addition to your other projects... or as your first online venture.
If you're thinking of taking on the challenge yourself, let me just say this:
It's not going to happen overnight. It's not going to happen in a month. It may not even happen in the first year. But if it takes you 18-24 months to set yourself up to earn $100k/year... you're doing better than the income you'd have after 4 (or more)Â years invested in a college education.
note: This is my affiliate link for Six Figure Blogging --> http://www.profcs.com/app/?Clk=1372996Â . You can follow this link, sign up for the affiliate program yourself, and order through your own link. It's a two-tier program... so we'll both benefit 😉
I purchased the original Six Figure Blogging a couple of months ago. It's really a pretty good course... but, IMO, it's more aimed at the newbie. The course is basically 6 audio teleclasses between Darren and Andy (and transcripts).
If you're new to this, get the course - it's good. If you've been blogging for a while and pretty much know how to monetize a blog (AdSense for example), just stick to visiting Darren's superb ProBlogger.net site, as you'll learn more from that... and it's free.
My reason for getting the course wasn't for the info as such; it was to get the opportunity to contact Darren (behind the senses).

"...Nothing but a little bit of time..."
To achieve those success, you need a lot more than just 'little bit of time'.
It's all relative, of course...
Andre - thank you for sharing your thoughts. I'm going to give this course a read when I return from PubCon and review it thoroughly.
And yes, I'm already familiar with and experienced at setting up & promoting etc... but I have to imagine the course includes some interesting resources, cool ideas I might not have thought of myself -- and that it would be insanely motivating!
Like I said, I'll check it out. I have a lot of respect for both Darren and Andy. I frequent their blogs and love their content. Their model would be ideal to follow, in my opinion.

Oops! Thanks for catching that error and for taking the time to point it out! I've corrected it in the post above 😉
Best,
Lynn
Just to correct the Darren Rowse blog's is Problogger.Net not Problogger.Com
🙂
I wanted to come back and make a note here that I've decided to review Jason Cain's course at: http://www.makemoneyblogging.com/ . I'll be digging in as soon as I return from PubCon, and may still review SixFigureBlogging as well at a later time.
Just an FYI 😉
