Enter to Win a Fellowes Shredder! #FellowesInc

This post brought to you by Fellowes. All opinions are 100% mine.

I was excited to receive the Fellowes 79Ci paper shredder to review, as I've never owned a shredder before. Getting rid of important documents without worrying they'll be stolen has always been an issue - so I'm thrilled to finally have one in the office.

It's a sweet stand-alone machine on wheels, so no desk space is necessary. I parked mine just beside my desk, and it's the perfect height to shred documents while sitting in my office chair.

As you saw in the video above, you have a chance to win one of these for your home office too!

Interesting to note, Fellowes designed the very first personal shredder back in 1990, and they are still the leader in shredding innovation and technology to this day.

Since this is my first shredder, I don't have any comparisons to make, but I really loved the fact that it destroys documents into almost 400 pieces - making it nearly impossible to piece back together. AND the fact that it runs so quietly!

Fellowes POWERSHRED 79ci Features

Jam Proof: Fellowes is the only brand on the market that offers 100% JamProof Technology. It has multiple levels of advanced jam prevention, not just standard anti-jam features like other brands.

Cross-Cut Technology:  The 79ci has heavy duty blades that shred a single sheet of paper into 399 particles.

SilentShred: One of the features you'll probably love most! Perfect for shared workspaces, or home offices where you share your workspace with your family. πŸ˜‰

SafeSense: the 79ci has a safety sensor that completely disables the shredder when a hand touches the paper opening. No worries!

Enter to Win a Fellowes Shredder: the POWERSHRED 79ci

It's easy! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post (below) stating what you would be shredding if you won. πŸ˜€ A winner will be selected in a random drawing from all comments left. One entry per person.

The Fellowes 79Ci is available at Staples for a suggested retail price of $239.99. For more information on Fellowes, please visit www.fellowes.com

  1. I would be shredding that big #%* box of papers from the last 20 years that my wife keeps in her closet. I have thrown my back out twice trying to move it back onto the shelf when she wanted to find something in it. There are instructions manuals for things we threw out 10 years ago along with old checks from the early 90's and mortgage papers from 2 houses back!

    Let's shred!

  2. I love the anti-jam feature and automatic safety shut off. I don't have any old love letters to trash (unfortunately) because I've been married for 40+ years (fortunately) LOL But I do have at least 20 years of personal and business papers that should be destroyed safely. I sure could use this baby!

  3. Well like you. I don't have a shredder and I should. Being that I run my home and my office I need to shred tons of stuff. I have boxes of things that are just waiting for a shredder or to burn.

  4. I could really use this to shred all of the old business and personal documents I have stuffed into a filing cabinet in my garage. I've been putting all sorts of papers with confidential information in it since my old shredder stopped working a couple of years ago. I just never took the time to get that one replaced. Thanks for the opportunity, Lynn!

  5. I too would be shredding the years of OMG identity theft bait papers we have in various places. I have a shredder now I got at Walmart that sounds like a meat grinder but does shred to confetti instead of strips. I'd love to upgrade to being able to finally get rid of that stuff as part of my spring clean project in my office.

  6. I would use this shredder to create a whole file drawer of space and shred old bank statements since you can access that information from the bank anyway. Why keep it?
    Thanks Lynn!

  7. Barbara Crowley says

I would shred anything that has any identifying information on it - tax returns, bank statements, etc. Everything else is recycled.

I would love a shredder such as this one - I've had a couple of cheap ones that never lasted very long.

    Thanks Lynn!

  8. My home office could use a shredder. I'd shred old bank statements, taxes, and pieces of paper that I wrote passwords on for my various online accounts.

  9. Miki Bennett says

I would shred all papers that need to be disposed of that have any personal info. Had a bad experience a few years ago with someone going through my trash and getting all my personal info. They dumped the trash in the woods and when the police found the dumped trash, they came to me thinking I had put it there! Almost got fined! Ugh! Definitely need a shredder! Thanks Lynn for offering such a great item that everyone needs.

  10. Thanks for the opportunity Lynn! I am working toward being paperless so I'd shred a LOT and that would definitely include documents with personal information that does not need to get into the wrong hands.

I moved to an office outside my home back in August of last year and I don't have a shredder here in the new office so this would be great!

  11. I have a shredder that's about 15 years old - and it was a cheapie when I bought it. It shreds a mind-boggling 2 sheets at a time, and the sounds it emits while doing so make me think every page will be its last. In fact, every time I use it I think "I really need to get a new shredder."

That Powershred would be a blessing! I would use it to shred those annoying "checks" the credit card company loves to send out, along with confidential client information that's no longer needed.

  12. Robert Nelson says

I have one, but it isn't jam proof and most assuredly doesn't shred into approx 400 pieces or nor is it on wheels(had to buy a waste paper basket to hang the unit on. So for all the reasons it would be great to win.

  13. I'd shred a few boxes of documents my husband keeps on the side of his bed for safe keeping.

  14. I'd be shredding clients' credit card info from my ornament business and of course my own personal documents I don't want in a landfill.

  15. Sweet. This would help me with clearing and cleaning up my desk.

  16. I've never owned a shredder, but I can think of about a million pieces of paper that I could do with getting rid of. This could be just the think to spur me into a major cleanup. In fact, I could even get the kids involved. They would love it

  17. Lynn, I only use Fellows Shreaders. I have been in the medical field for 20 years and have had many shreaders. This one is the BEST! My kids uses this daily as their chore. I have a box of shreading per week sometimes more. I cannot say enough about this product.

  18. Betty Muscott says

Our son has suffered a real problem because someone broke into his home and went through his papers and stole his identity. This is a problem beyond belief, and a shredder would have helped him get rid of that paperwork so no one could steal it.

  19. We bought a shredder about two years ago and it's come in very handy for shredding financial documents. Unfortunately it died a few months ago. We've been ripping up our documents ever since, hah. We've been meaning to go check out a new one but haven't gotten around to it. I'll take a look at Fellows for sure.

  20. Dennis Comstock says

Thanks, Lynn for the info on this. I've had a shredders for probably 15 years and wouldn't be without one. I say plural, because they haven't lasted more than a few years . . . but never spent the "extra" to get a good one. I've had my eye on Fellows for some time, because I know they are tops . . . would have been better off just putting out some extra $$$ in the beginning & saving $$$ in the long run.
I'm sure you will come to love having one . . . it's the extra peace of mind knowing you can protect sensitive information and still clean out a bunch of unnecessary paper.
    Thanks again.

  21. I've had a shredder for several years but you can't shred many pages at once because it jams. So I tend to pile up the papers waiting for that rainy afternoon when I don't have anything better to do than sit next to the shredder and feed it one sheet at a time.

If I won this shredder, I'd pour myself a glass of wine and have a fast shredding party with that stack!

I would love a shredder! Obviously being a Networking Coach, I meet lots of people and sometimes info is shared with me that no one should see about someone's business. Right now I have a huge box that I'm filling up and expecting to have to call a shredding company to get rid of it. It would be great (and save me money) if I could get a shredder in my office.

  22. Thanks for the giveaway, Lynn. I would shred all the papers that constantly accumulate that shouldn't go in the trash.

  23. Winning this shredder would mean I would be able to shred the things that I read and need to discard, instead or reading them over and over because they sit in a pile, and I forget what is in the pile. I know the rule about reading things once and putting them away, or putting them in the "circular file". I think that my new rule would be read, file, or "shred"! Thanks for giving me hope:)

  24. Karen D. says

When I moved a few years ago, I purchased an inexpensive shredder. It took care of the more pressing items to shred at the time, but it took forever, as it could shred only 8 pages at a time.

Not sure what happened to that past shredder, but I certainly need one, and would prefer to have a more powerful one to have handy for daily use.

Like many others here, I have an ever-growing box of papers to shred. (I swear that stuff somehow multiplies behind my back, when I'm not looking, etc., because it started out as only a pile. πŸ˜€ )

Pretty sure there is still a box somewhere containing items from that move that never got into that old shredder.

Things to shred are bills, those pesky credit card offers, old journal notes that best not see the light of day ;-), cards/notes I don't want to put in the trash, story ideas that run the gamut of too embarrassing to ones I might get around to writing later on, and so on.

Even using the old shredder was a very satisfying feeling. Not only is it good to know one's documents will not be read, it's the feeling of lightness that comes with getting rid of them.

Now that you have a shredder, Lynn, you will wonder how you ever got along without it.

Thanks for the opportunity to enter the contest. Bonne chance, everyone. πŸ˜€

  25. I'd shred all of the on-call notes and case notes I have at home for work. Right now I pile them up and take them to work everyonce in a while to shred.

  26. AnnaLaura Brown says

I would shred the old papers I have lying around and in my drawers and closet.

  27. Rozina Hunter says

I would love to have this baby! I've been thinking about buying one because I too have a lot of papers that I don't want to just throw into the trash can because of identity theft. Maybe I'll hold off and see if I am the winner of this mad shredding machine.

  28. WOW! Love this shredder! I have papers all the way back to the 80s that need to be disposed of properly! We would get to be very good friends very fast! Thanks for the opportunity Lynn!

  29. If I win this shredder, I will use it to clean off my desk. Lots of papers accumulate that are outdated and need to be disposed of. Also, it will come in handy for all the junk mail that arrives.

  30. Michael Janowiak says

The only things to shred are those !#^&$#@>? !!!! Bills. There, I feel better now.

  31. scott carney says

WOW a shredder. We have a cheap one now and after 2 min of shredding it over heats. So with that being said I would be shredding all my wife's old paperwork that we have moved from place to place. We have at least 2 bins of old paperwork and old bills we need to shred so this would really come in handy.

  32. I have a stack of boxes that need shredding. I was thinking of taking them to the office supply store. (My personal shredder is not up to that task.) They shred documents for 79 cents a pound! Perhaps I'll wait and see if I win!!

  33. I have boxes of bills and bank statements that have to been to Hawaii and back which means they are at least 15 years old! I was thinking about getting a shredder just last week when I found some recent bank statements that I didn't need but didn't want to just throw away. Fellows is also a great brand; I know because I bought the one that we use at our office.

  34. If it's as good as you say it is, I think I will try to make some coleslaw!

  35. Lesa Gilstrap Jones says

I had one not long ago, I really could use it as I am rebuilding my home office after losing my home ac couple of years ago. I free one would save me loads of money now.

  36. Right now my office space looks like a mini version of HOARDERS! Never owned a shredder and this stuff piling up is very overwhelming at times:) Would absolutely put it to good use:)

  37. If I win I will be shredding all the credit card offers I receive in the mail!

  38. Well, I think I'm one-up on others that mentioned their 2-page shredders. My massive machine will shred 6 whole pages at once while screaming at the top of its "lungs!" Oh the noise this thing makes. You'd think I was killing it. πŸ™‚

I'd take out my earplugs and shred the stack of papers on my desk in blissful peace and quiet.

  39. I've got a ton of old bills and receipts I need to shred ASAP. They're cluttering my desk!

  40. I would shred boxes and boxes and boxes of old records. I have a small shredder now that shreds about two pieces at a time. This workhorse you have reviewed looks like it could do the job πŸ™‚

  41. Cathy Watts says

I would shred all those old bills and records that I'm afraid to throw away. I also have boxes of checks from old bank accounts that I'm afraid would be mis-used if I just threw them away.

  42. If I was lucky enough to win I would shred all my final reminders that I received before I started to make some money online.

  43. Where was this last year when I lugged a hundred pound box of miscellaneous papers down to the local UPS and paid a lot of money to have them shredded? That was because my little shredder kept over heating every time I went near it with more than 5 pieces of paper. My garage now has a big black garbage bag that is starting to fill up and I am in desperate need for a reliable, good quality shredder and this would be perfect. Would so appreciate it.

  44. Betty Fellows says

I have 2 boxes of old tax files that no longer need to kept. I would love to shred them all and be free of them.

  45. I do love the Fellowes products, including their shredders. They make a slow job of shredding my old, uneeded bills faster and easier. Thanks for another fun giveaway πŸ™‚ Have a lovely day!

  46. Suzanne Lieurance says

    Hey, Lynn,

Gosh! I'd be shredding all the old, old papers and documents we inherited several years ago when my father-in-law died. Plus, old business papers of my own. I've had a shredder before, but they always jammed. This one sounds like a much better model than the ones I've owned in the past.

  47. I have a shredder now but its one page at a time and it doesn't cross shred so I still have boxes of old financial papers in the spare bedroom closet that I need to have shredded. Would love to use that space for something else.

  48. I'm forever jotting down passwords and other private information at my desk before transferring them to my password protection software. Those scraps of paper along other the standard mail scraps that need to be shredded go into a stack under my desk until I remember to take them downstairs to the other "home office" to shred them. I would love to have the Fellowes shredder in my office!

  49. I like to shred my bills πŸ™‚ I pretty well shred anything that has my name on it. Lately my shredder has been "choking" a lot so I think it's time for a new one!

  50. Judy Scuderi says

I would love to have this shredder. The anti-jam feature is awesome. And wheels - I think I'm in love. I have boxes and bozes of items to be shredded. I often take a bag to my workplace to shred and my co-workers are so over the noise! If I win, I might even outsource the shredding job to my son!
