I set this blog (ClickNewz.com) up on 03/11/05 - about 3 1/2 weeks ago. Today I noticed that the green is on the move, and it's currently showing a PageRank 4 in my Google Toolbar!
As most of you know, the domain already had a TBPR3 (that's "toolbar pagerank three" for the non-geeks) when I launched this blog. That's because I knew ahead of time that I would be using this domain, and so I put it up and pointed a couple of links to it until I could get around to installing WordPress and setting everything up.
Anyway, it's nice to see things on the move so soon! π
The Alexa numbers are moving rather quick too, as you can see in this graph:
These may just be "vanity numbers" and irrelevant in the grand scheme of things - but they are fun to note nonetheless. And as we all know, some of the less savy site owners out there use these numbers as a guage as to whether they'll bother linking... or even reading (sadly lol).
So, on to some real stats... π
- Inbound Links: 3,560
- Unique Visitors March 11th to March 31st: 1,038
- Unique Visitors April 1st to April 4th: 761
- Total Unique Visitors since 03/11: 1,799
- Top Referring sites include GoldBlogger (thanks, Jason!), the original ClickNewz blog, the SSWT Forum and The Warrior Forum.
(this post will be out of date by the time my coffee is done brewing π π )
Keyword phrases used to find this site in the major search engines (so far) include:

what is optional excerpt ?

Um... you guys gotta help me out and link to some of my decent posts π LOL
So, there's a bit of work to do yet... but we're moving right along!
Technorati Tags: pagerank, stats, visitors, inbound links
Those are some nice stats Lynn! There are bloggers out there that have been doing this for years and are nowhere near those traffic levels yet.
Now, about some of those keywords you're ranking for - hmm, is there another side to Lynn Terry that we don't know about? π
Thank you, Paul!
And, um, err, I guess I better watch what I'm bloggin' about! π

Had to laugh ... AND do a double-take on the "mom porn" thing! I had FORGOTTEN about that post of yours about that "mom". heh heh

Congrats on the PR, I get such a thrill out of that too when one of my new sites is ranked for the first time. I just had one yesterday show a PR, I was over the moon. LOL about keywords π .
I know, I know - you shoulda seen me when I checked my stats: π― Geez!
LOL
Dan: I dont bother with trying to "manipulate PageRank" - it's just something that happens naturally when you promote a website or a blog. An increase in PageRank is a result, not a task.
Simply put: blog frequently, ping of course, link out, get links coming in
WordPress makes it super-easy to get quality inbound links, by the way. It's an incredible tool for "social networking". When you link out to another WordPress blog, that person is notified and alerted to your post or to your blog. This, in addition to getting involved with other blogs in your niche, is a great way to get [unsolicited] natural links pointing to your own blog!
But even better than all that... I've met some really cool people in the blogosphere that way, and made some great new friends!
Hmmm...
I plan to set up a WordPress blog. How'd you get that pagerank up again??
Dan
P.S. I promise not to tell anyone about those keywords. Mom's the word! π
That's great, Ellen! It's SO important to track progress, note what works, tweak where you can, and continue the process.
You are obviously on a really good roll lately - it's been a lot of fun to watch your sites grow over the last few months!
Hey Lynn,
Congrats!
I also had my little green bar move, from 0 to 4! It's kind of like seeing my name in print, y'know, it validates me that I'm important... at least to Google- LOL!
I've had 292 unique visitors so far this month, mostly because people are forwarding the "Animal School" movie to others... and because of all I've learned from your sites, so thanks!
Update: Well, as predicted, this post is already out of date!
Currently (one day later)...
Inbound Links: 4,070 (nice increase!)
