I agree with Wordtracker. I think it has been the best since it first came out. But like you said, Google has its use for paid ads.

  2. Out of all of them, I actually am loving Long Tail Pro at the moment.

Thanks Lynn for this reminder. I have quite a few keyword tools/programs to work with but find them to be just "too much."

I am coming back to this keyword tool. Back to basics and simple information not guided by owned search engines.

  4. Hey Lynn,

Thank you! This is a great video post. I have had a copy of a Market Samuri on my computer ever since it was first released.

I also have used the Free Google Keyword Tool.

Honestly, I have never fully figured out the secret to researching keywords and how to make best use of the research.

I thought that Wordtracker only had a paid version and a trial. The free version sounds interesting . Thanks!

I also love that it is browser based and cross platform compatible.

I would really like to hear more about how you work using different devices and platforms (OS like mac, windows, iOS, android etc.)

What are some of your most loved tools for working this way? (both hardware and software)

    smiles, 🙂

  5. Hey Lynn,
Thanks for the great video. I have Market Samurai (and am still learning how to use it--LOL) and like to use it for its competition data.

I know that WordTracker's free tool is great for basic keyword research but do you also use it to assess competition of keywords?

Or do you rely on google search, allintitle, etc to assess competition?

Or do you have other methods to assess keyword competition?

Also, I just wanted to let you know that Market Samurai pulls their data from Google. I know this for sure because I email'd them directly and that's what they told me.

    Cheers!

    Deb

  6. I decided to move to the Free Wordtracker Tool after Google transitioned to the keyword planner tool especially since it's results are based on paid advertising from AdWords not organic searches plus it doesn’t remove all automated searches carried out by SEO software and SEO companies. This adds thousands of robotic searches to the search counts which aren’t real searches done by human beings.

  7. Hi Lynn,

I use keyword planner so far. Still wonder how it work better than the old version though. Sometimes I am also using wordtracker but I think it is rather complicated if we are new to it.

  8. I think you have to go with the biggest name in the game -- Google. I've been a fan of their keyword tool for some time now. Since they gather the data from their own users, it's a great indicator about how much traffic you may be able to get. Sure, while the numbers may not be 100 percent accurate, it can get you on the right path. WordTracker and Market Samurai are nice; however, I like the simplicity and the ability to reach everything through my browser. Plus, if I need to upload ads through AdWords, my data is already there.

  9. I've been using Wordtracker since I started and I have been satisfied with this.

Thanks for turning me on to WordTracker! I was debating buying Market Samurai, but I like the idea of having a browser based research tool. I also use Keyword Snatcher, which has helped me find a lot of long tail keywords that Google never showed me

  11. I have used Wordtracker a while back and then I started using Google which has its limits. Recently I started using Hittail Long Tail Keywords and I think that has been of some significant value. Evaluating any keyword tool has to be alongside competition research and that can also help your research.

  12. Sadly, I don't use any of the keyword research tools solely because I don't not much about SEO and how to market my blog. I'd prefer to be directed on their importance and how to use them.. Imean a complete tutorial.
