  3. What is the best way of increasing traffic flow to your website free of charge?

  4. I have found my Keywords & Phrases - in order to generate traffic, where do I insert these? Are they to go inside the "Keywords" tag or simply in the copy text?
    Thanks

  5. I second the previous questions about how to monetize your site. Like many I have tried various things to increase traffic, monetize my site, etc all to no avail.

  6. Hi Lynn. I was wondering what your best traffic technique is that you use and how do you implement that technique to make it work?

    Hi,

I have a small website selling meditation CDs and recently I started offering Birthstone Bracelets that my wife makes. In an attempt to jump start the interest, we thought it would be a good idea to give away one of the bracelets.

So, my question is, after mailing to my list, what are some other ways to get traffic to a "Giveaway" signup page?

    Here is the page:

Hi Lynn, I am trying to reach a goal of 400 unique visitors per day, and I am finding this very hard with pay per click. How well do you do with pay per click and do you have any special strategies that you can offer?

We have made numerous efforts but we fail to get a good amount of traffic and hence less money too. We want to increase our traffic and then only we'll be able to get good money.

Could you please suggest some ideas which can increase traffic.

    Awaiting reply,
    Regards

  10. Build a website that other people whould bother coming to. Create a large cesspool of traffic. Montitize the traffic by putting google ads alover the place, suck up the coin and lalf yer bleeded arse off. Sounds simple?

  11. My suggestion: Build a website that is worth more money to your website viewer, that a website that looks like " Oh God, give me money. " Find your niche, bishe"!

  12. Simple question about articles: In your article marketing, you advise to submit your first articles to directories and also to related webmasters. Aren't we setting ourselves up for duplicate content by doing this?
Someone said you can be considered "guilty" of duplicate content even if it's your original articles that are all over the place ...

  13. Hi Ana,

I should address this in a separate post, and probably will, but to answer your question: only if you are publishing those same articles on your own domain(s).

I write articles for my sites... and I write different articles to submit to directories and webmasters.

If you plan to use the same articles on your own site, then you want to publish them on your site first and give them time to get indexed in the major search engines - before submitting them anywhere else.

    Hope that helps

    Best,
    Lynn Terry

  14. Do you use any offline methods to promote your online business?

  15. lisa beck says

We are pitching business for this site and they want us to give an ROI based on the marketing and web design enhancements we have suggested. Without being given any numbers like number of visits per day, conversion to tickets, how do we prepare a best educated guess to stay in the running--we have told them that we would be making up numbers but they insist they need to make a business case to finance to get add'l funding and they won't hold us to it--which makes us nervous for all the obvious reasons. Your insight would be helpful.

    Hi Lynn,
I'm a life and business coach. I have a website, a blog and a Squidoo lens. As a coach I have a sense that it makes more sense to direct traffic to my website where people can get an overall sense about me. However, I have gotten the impression from various sources that it would be better to direct initial traffic (from my blog, lens and articles) to a one or two page landing page or 'squeeze page'. The enticer would be a free e-book.

What do you think is a better approach: just directing people to my website where they can see the e-book offer and submit their email or a landing page to capture their email first?

  17. Hi Rich,

The approach I would recommend is that you keep the main page of your website focused on a specific call to action - download your report, for example. They can freely surf your navigation, but the headline should pull them into the content -> should compel them to request the info -> and the info should impress them and encourage them to stay tuned to your follow-ups.

  18. Rich Atkinson says

I plan to do what you say with my main website. Would it also be good to have a separate landing page site to offer an ebook and get contact info that way as well? In other words would that be more effective to do both? Or just use an ebook offer to get people to my main website?

  19. Definitely do both. You can split test the conversions that way with Google Adwords.

  20. Rich Atkinson says

    Thanks Lynn,
I'll do both and test it. Looking forward to creating it. What are the abundant possibilities?

  21. The possibilities are endless, of course 😉

  22. Hello Lynn, just read your article regarding free ways to send traffic (your 10 suggestions) to a site totally free of charge. Many of the suggestions mentioned, I myself have done, though still did not get the desired traffic. Don't worry network marketing community, these tactics DO WORK, I just don't devote as much time to any of them as I should!! Anyhow, within your post you described ways to market by publishing, though I did not see any links to any sites to do this, this should have been included. Anyway, I decided to give more information regarding your tactic of submitting your site via network publishing. Here are some links to some great article sharing / publishing marketplaces, not only do you have the potential to drive millions to your site, you also have the opportunity to write about anything on your mind, in regards to any area, without any legal woes!! Best of all, these companies pay you to write articles, and your work is instantly on the top ten listings on the first and second pages, with Yahoo and Google, everytime someone searches the net, and uses keywords to find your article, (which I do believe you get to pick and choose keywords and tags at no cost!!) not only is your work noticed, but you are paid at the minimum of $1.50 per click, for every 10,000 clicks and more for more clicks, so on and so forth. Though things may have changed since last I worked with these companies, so double check for yourselves! Once the work is published, it is submitted to many search engines, (at no cost to you of course), and put on the top of the first page or top of the second page!!!! So this is a great way not only to make money from your website, though make money to write. Also, many Hollywood head honchos search through these companies all the time, looking for the next big name, so your work does have the potential to get noticed by some heavy hitters. Okay, I am going to now post the links, I am tired of typing, please save me some time and carpel tunnel, and just look through yourselves for further details: http://www.associatedcontent.com and http://www.helium.com also try http://www.submityourarticle.com. These are all totally free of charge! While we are on the subject of network marketing via blogs and publishing, someone please browse through my site and BUY SOMETHING!!!!!! (lol), http://powerhouse9.ld.net (Thank You!, lol) By the way no application is required these are not jobs, simply sign up and your ready to roll!!! Have fun with it. If you would like further proof in the pudding, just go to any search engine and type up key phrases like " How to save money on College Tuition", there right on the top of Google (first page), you will see an article submitted by me through AC (associated content), in regards to how to save money on college tuition and material costs, without loans or grants, and how to get through college a lot faster than one might think. Okay I'm done, best of luck to everyone!!!

I am getting targetted traffic of around 10 new registerations everyday,
first page does have call for action too, which probably is leading to registerations, however hardly any one is paying buy credits. My question is how to convert target traffic into paying buyers?

    • Hi Rakesh,
Are you referring to the site you linked to here? I would look at your keyword phrases, and determine exactly what your visitors want when they arrive at your site. If they are just looking for "free document conversion" for example, you may have a hard time converting them to paying customers. If you would like a site review, you may post a request at my discussion forum.

  24. hi,

thanks for the article. Totally new site, have been live a fortnight, need to build traffic obviously as we add content, but traffic is extremely important. old school guerrilla marketer using postal mail, should we use email through bulk mailing companies that say they are double opt in and have fortune 500 customers (logos on their site) using their services? or is this just wrong? thoughts please.

    cheers

  25. Hello. Love your site. Very informative.

I was wondering what kind of differences there are in search engine traffic when using different web design software/programs. For instance, is there a better SEO result when using Xara Web Designer compared to Dreamweaver or WordPress? It's just my source code looks a lot different than other sites and I know they are getting a lot more traffic. Is there something that a certain software uses to restrict me from additional search engine traffic. Maybe not on purpose, but just because of their integration. Strictly a SEO question. Thanks for your help!

  26. Mark Holcomb says

    Dear Lynn,

I have a new domain pointing to the larger site containing http://mark-holcomb.artistwebsites.com/. This larger site is called Fineartamerica.com. One of the issues I have is that I do, almost exclusively abstract photography and am struggling with key words. I am wanting to sell to public, B2B, corporate art consultants, designers of almost every ilk. I believe the key word "Abstract Art" is really highly rated with a million others using it before me. The same with "Abstract photography". and "Abstract etc.", and the list goes on. I am wondering about other key words related, out of the box, like what a corporate art buyer might use when searching for work. Wondering about your thoughts.

    Mark
